Ya only thing that lags for me is kicking cars, kill cams, and when my buddy gets host which is very rare.

My connection bar may say orange, but hell if I don't notice any of the lag. Its when it gets to the last red bar it lags and then I just find a new game.

well, i dont notice lag, USUALLY, sometimes i do notice it taking lots of shots to kill someone sometimes, but like 90% of the time the lag isnt there for me, and ive been playing a lot of multiplayer, im level 48 sooooo if there was bad lag id probably have noticed it, and i do get host sometimes but i always check who the host is by seeing who has full green and i dont have it all the time, IMO this game runs pretty smooth, only lag is kill cams and car kicking

Apologies folks but yet another complaint about the Multiplayer portion of the game.

I got this game on wednesday (after not receiving it from amazon after pre ordering it in february!!!) filled with high hopes of it being a cod killer. The look, the style, the everything about this game says number 1 all over it.

and no doubt this same story has been repeated time and time again on the forum but I need to have my say just to get it off my chest.

I excitedly cram the disc in the xbox (black ops is hopefully shelved for good), wait for the loading screen to clear enter MP (wow this looks good). Go to find a match, get into a lobby almost instantly, then get kicked, join another lobby instantly, that closes too. Finally get in a game which is halfway through.

Wow the scenery is amazing. The graphics are amazing. Cool im invisible, HA!

Theres the enemy, his back is turned to me SHOOT SHOOT. Full clip in the back, wtf he's not dead?!?! Weird must be an armour upgrade or my gun is weak.

BLAM im dead. Bummer.

Respawn.

BLAM im dead again, I respawned infront of someone. Hmmmmmnnn.

Respawn.

Enter stealth mode, see someone, creep up infront of them, point blank range BLAM BLAM BLAM almost a full clip in his chest.

BLAM im dead again. GRRRRRRR!

WTF is going on?!?!

This carries on for the game, mostly I respawn infromt of enemy or get killed after unloading into them.

Even when i kick a car it takes at least 1 to 2 seconds for the car to move.

Ok bad connection, I checked the connection strength. Next game should choose a better host, nope same people different host still the same. One full green bar everyone else no higher than 2 red.

Im trying so hard to like this game Crytek but its not happening, played 3 games this morning and its no different than 2 days ago. So its getting shelved until I hear that something has been done about it.

Now no doubt this thread will get filled with replies such as "you wont be missed" "cool story" "get a better connection" etc.

But this is a trend which i featuring across many games not just this one. It seems like there is no quality control here, I mean what was the beta for?!? The beta played better than the finished product!!

Companies must know that Multiplayer is now more important than single player campaigns, and the multiplayer is what keeps the game alive for months to come. So why are they so poor.

Surely there is one main thing that a company knows it needs to get right more than everything else:

Connection quality
Lag reduction.

Yet they seem more bothered about looks.

Crysis 2 is my first crytek game, and if it doesnt improve in the next few weeks to come it'll certainly be my last.

So after all of the hype and the excitement it looks like ill be returning to Black ops yet again (cos homefront got shelved after 20 minutes) with my tail betwen my legs.

Crysis is known for SinglePlayer experience, the graphics in Singleplayer are waaaay higher than multiplayer to maintain better framerate

So why did you post this again? If there are already multiple threads about this, why do we need another one?

Because I'm a customer and I'm unhappy with a product. If you bought a brand new car and it had a common fault but you only found out about that fault a week after everyone else complained would you decide not to complain because everyone the week before had?!?

The more people show that they are unhappy the more likely they are to do something about it a bit quicker.

Apples and oranges my friend.

If I may, you could have just posted your thoughts in one the other complaint threads about the lag instead of taking up space with a thread that has already been touched on. If you did that, I promise that thread will go to the top of the forum for everyone to see in all of it's shining glory (shining glory... HA!).

Just a thought.

I had this yesterday, I had the morning off work so had a few games and it was awful, couldn't get into a game properly, i would get kicked just as it started, and then horrendous lag. I was the worse player in pretty much every match I finally got into.

Last night however everything was fine, straight into games, no lag, and decent scores. The other evenings I have played have also been fine, other than the odd slightly laggy match which you get in virtually all online games.

So yeah maybe it was the time of day? I was wondering if I was connecting to the americans or something?

True. I could have but my thoughts were on being a bit more constructive thanks posting the usual,

Crytek, sort this s*%$ out or else thread that's been posted. As you may have read there is no rage or bad language just a dissapointed customer who had high expectations.

Before I start, I'm just going to say that I am new here, and I have no idea if, or how often, these issues have been pointed out.

Now. One thing I've noticed in Crysis 2's multiplayer is the complete randomness involved in a surprising percentage of kills. As much as I enjoy the multiplayer, it seems that I am rolling a dice to decide the outcome of each encounter.
For instance, if I activate Armour mode, then start shooting at someone with most shots hitting above the chest, they can easily activate Armour mode, turn around and kill me with leg-stomach shots.
I have been raging pretty hard over the last week as each Armour-on-Armour fight ends with me dying. It seems that no matter how much Energy I have, no matter how accurate my shots are, I can only kill if the enemy is not aware of me.

Another problem that can include Armour issues, the melees. I have noticed alot of variability in the melees, and it seems that they are almost completely dependant on latency. Sometimes, it takes two melees to take out an Armoured person, and other times it takes four to take out an unarmoured person. This is a minor point of my argument, but it's still rather random.

Assists are also a problem, and like the melees above, it seems that if I put two bullets into the target and a team mate finishes him off, I will get an assist. Other times, I SCAR an enemy to the point of the [Health Critical] warning on their screen (I'd imagine, anyway) when a team mate will put the last bullet into him/her. No assist.
If anyone could explain the assist system to me (For instance, in Halo: Reach, an assist is defined as contributing to 40% or more of the total damage dealt to a target, and them being killed before their shields recharge; or in Call of Duty, being basically at least one hitmarker to earn an assist), it would be very helpful.

One thing I've noticed is that these occurrences generally fall into games with the strange yellow-or-red bar connection (not always though). It seems that while this connection is relatively smooth and lag-free, there are still little things like those paragraphs up above that make themselves apparent.
Also, seeming I'm such a creepy person and all, I check the location of each host of each game, to make sure that my yellow-bar is reasonable.
More than three-quarters of the time, it isn't.
Crysis 2 is the only game where I could get yellow-bar to another Australian barely 100km away from me. The host selection and management is almost to the point of it being a joke. Every two or three games, I'll have yellow-or-red bar to even the people in my party, who quite literally live down the street from me.
It seems that each game, the host is randomly reselected, not based on their actual competency as a host.
Or is this problem on the server's end of the line? Once again, I have no idea how the host selection works in Crysis, and it would be great to get an explanation on this one.

Don't get the wrong idea though, these are just little occurrences that bug me a little each time I play a game. I love the multiplayer to bits, and the campaign even more. I think it's a terrific game, and these are the only things I can think of that make me shake my head when I boot the disc.
So, I'm going to go play some more, and I'll be back in a couple of hours.
I will be back, and thanks in advance.

The first 2 might be on par with Crysis 2, but Black Ops, give me a break!!

It's the same **** game running on the same **** 6 year old IW engine. It's just a rehash of the old games with a slightly tweaked theme & weapons.

Agreed CoD has never will never ever ever in my opinion be a great game. Its boring who wants to play a game in which looking at someone spells instant death no matter what weapon they use. Thats not warfare because if it was as real as it claims then i would be able to climb on all the buildings in the game and shoot you in the face from above and laugh as i get in one of the stationary vehicles that are unusable and pop to Mc donalds for a big mac coke and fries

Call of Duty: "If you've bought one, you've bought 'em all."

----Rohan.

Anyways, back on topic, I think they could improve the lag by fixing the matchmaking by prioritizing local & same continent connections.

I mean, It's not actually a bad game for me, but I did get lucky with 2 LMG reloaders and 5 hit melee shots. they actually needed 5 punches to die.

We really need dedi servers.
