Cryek - Patch Hasn't Fixed The Multiplayer Lag Issues

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:28 am

I can drive over my xbox with a steamroller, hit a home run with it, impale it on spikes, and poop on it, and brotha, it will only get better.

You forgot about the machine-gun bro.

*Sigh*

I was all excited, when I realised there was a 'patch' yesterday. But I am afraid Crytek - the Multiplayer aspect of Crysis 2 is still very very poor.

If you want Crysis 2 to not curl up and die, I am afraid we will need DEDICATED SERVERS.

What a joke this game is, don't believe me?? Try using a burst weapon such as the Grendel - After you've pumped a whole CLIP into someone (stationary sometimes) and still they turn around and kill you.

The lag is shambolic.

Crytek - You are fast becoming a joke.

They can't fix it thats why.

It's THE most talked about subject from the forums yet Crytek have never mentioned connections on the 360.

Crytek - You won't ever be getting another penny off me, you are a joke.

It's pretty much the same situation as Gears of War 2, they might patch the crap out of the game to make the online bareable but to even be competitive on the consoles nowadays you need dedicated servers or amazing P2P software ( Bungies Halo Software for example ).

If you're game lags, it doesn't matter how good you're framerate is, or how good the actual game is, it will fail online.

Too true, I own a PS3 and a 360 and I put in Homefront, Halo Reach, Killzone 3 in to play, and it's 150% better than this Crytek / EA offering.

With dedicated servers, I believe this game would be the best FPS out there, I really do.

We've been shanked.

They have literally not fixed anything that affected gameplay. This is the list of changes from the patch notes that affect MP....

? Fix for invites being accepted during level loading.
? Fix for mute settings not being retained.
? Fixed an issue where Deflection bonus would carry over into the next round.
? Fixed an issue where players would sometimes remain stuck in a blank screen after accepting a game invite.
? Objectives are returned if they end up in forbidden areas.
? Fixed various weapon exploits.
? Fixed exploit where player is able to continuously pick up and return the relay.
? Fixed an issue where weapon zoom would sometimes not work correctly.

Oh look, they basically don't affect MP at all. Who the hell was using weapon exploits? I had like 3 days played in MP or something and never saw any. Not saying these shouldn't be fixed, but they sure as **** weren't important. Mute settings? Oh boy.... my bullets will totally register now. Who needs good connections when I can make sure the person that died 5 times in a row doesn't get deflection again after the round is over.. PHEW close one.

Cry-Adam

This is on topic, I'd like to know what Cryteks stance is on Multiplayer Lag???

Could you let us (you're customers) know what (if anything) is being done about Crysis 2 Multiplayer Lag??

I look forward to your response on this matter.

The "very very poor" MP due to the lag is probably on your side dude.

I have about 12 Xbox Live friends that play C2, and perhaps 1/12 games is it unplayable. When that happens we jump out the game and enter a new one, 2 mins later were back in a playable game. Have another 8-10 good games or more and then jump out if there is a problem again. The host migrations are annoying, but half of them work and what can you do about the other half? When the host is going 0-6 then he is going to dashboard or turn off his Xbox. Nature of this species.

Make sure your NAT Type is Open and you have a good connection. I have 10mb DOWN, 1MB UP with 30 ping according to http://www.speedtest.net/ and it's on wireless (router is too far away from my bedroom for wired). This is not the best but still very good for online gaming.

I REALLY REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND why people have so frequent lag. I've played possibly over a 1000 games since I''ve almost rebooted for the 4th time. Host having full bars and everyone else having one bar is EXTREMELY rare. I mean it EXTREMELY rare. When this happens I would admit it is unplayable, shooting someone with your whole clips and then melee'ing them 4 times to kill them. But again, this is EXTREMELY rare.

Even when my friends are host and they are in america and I live in the UK, I may have a 2 bar. But I can still got 25-6 or better on IA. I can still own. I can only sense a very minor delay and if I do lose a gunfight I can almost always say that I made a mistake.

Little Story: My brother played the game last weekend and after two days playing it he will still bad at the game and kept saying he got BS killed over and over and he gave up on it saying that if it wasn't for lag then he would have won. He lost a game of IA and so I asked him to pass the controller over. Mind you, it was the same host as last game. I went 25-1! My one death was a random OP grenade. He was in amazement, he realized he was talking out his a** at the point.

People may reply to this and say "good for you, but others have the same problem". If anyone has good connection and NAT Type is Open then I don't understand why the difference for some the lag is unplayable and for some are fine. PLEASE COMPREHEND THIS - We have the same Xbox's more or less, the same game and patches, the same Xbox Live. Foreign hosts make a little difference but not huge to the point whereby I cannot play, enjoy it and own.

We have the SAME S**T! HOW HOW HOW can my and my online friends experience be DRASTICALLY different to the handful of people that complain here. Perhaps a poll needs to be done to show how bad people really find the lag.

You seemed to have missed the "Stability Improvements"

I've noticed that my Xbox will rarely freeze. I don't keep getting "Retrieving Session Details" all the time in a lobby. I'm finding games faster. Host Migrations are more successful. Less lag in games. The party system is better.

Good patch IMO. I would still like to see more but I am satisfied with my very playable MP experience.

31.60 Download 2.67 Upload 72 Ping

Says it's faster than 88% of Great Britain.

I have hardly any other lag issues with Killzone 3, Halo Reach, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Homefront - Yet I get a sh1t load of Multiplayer Lag while playing Crysis 2 - Co-incidence that it's related to Crysis 2 - of course it is.

I am glad that you get so many good games, you are lucky. But myself along with scores and scores of unhappy people on here don't get your good fortune regarding lag.

Again, Cry-Adam - Can you let us know if there is anything going to be done about Crysis 2 Multiplayer Lag ???

i can absolutely agree with you. every once in a while will i get a match that is horrible. out of the 2 hours i played last night, 1 was really lagging. im not that good of a player, but i usually am even on k/d which i could give 2 **** less about. its fun and thats what counts. especially on crash site when everyone is trying to get the pod. man does it ever get hectic, but like i said, its fun.

granted there are some bugs and issues here and there, but tell me one game that doesnt have that problem. no matter what forum you go to, people always bich and complain about something. like there is a perfect world of games. let me know where it is and i might go there. but theres not. and if you know where they are, then go there and never come back with your complaining asses.

crytek is doing the best they can right now with fixes and patches, so everyone needs to be patient and chill.

now with the online gameplay, if you really have lag, then you need to tell your isp to come and do a diagnosis on your internet. speedtest.com doesnt always give you an accurate diagnosis. trust me, im a cable technician and know these things. it could be numerous things that are having problems, such as your m.e.r. or b.e.r. are bad. that can cause packet loss. or possibly your isp networking could be topped out, that can cause problems. do a trace route on your desktop and see where the slowing down comes from. it might be your server from who knows where thats the problem. some of you people have absolutely no clue what your biching about. thats the world of gaming.

so unless we get dedicated servers, which will not happen, dont count on a miracle. p2p svcks and thats the end of it. live with it and deal with it.

A sensible response for once. Bad lag is the exception, not the rule.

Just take a look at that.

The host must have had a dial up connection, because the game was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LAGGED (yes that many "o"s was necessary)

if you have ever played as host the game is great BUT
im not trying to sound like a dbag im just saying that if crytec can step it up and fix the overlapping lag then it has potential

Can you please confirm or deny whether there is any patch in the making that addresses Crysis 2 Multiplayer Lag???

It's a simple question, and as a customer I think we more than deserve a reply.

I've seen this happen perhaps twice in 1000+ games. So this is not representative of C2.

Fanboy fail. As you're using lame childish terms from 13 y/o little boys, I only see it fit to respond such way.

So Fanboy, if I were to post every game of such things, there would be lots of threads. I don't get why you defend the game so blindly. It is clear that you are just an idiot, who keeps on accusing everyone of trolling. How I hate such term, representative of the new generation of idiot teenagers, who grew up according the broadband internet.

Fanboy, pretty lame you are little one :)

Haha I have complained about this game almost more than anyone else here because the game was a mess.
With the hotfix and latest patch then I don't understand people problems. You posting pictures of one in a million instances and behaving as though it was the norm, that is a troll or stupidity. Hopefully the former.

Also since I used a "childish" terms then you used one? so you brought yourself down to my level for a snipe? Don't you have integrity?
