Cryek - Patch Hasn't Fixed The Multiplayer Lag Issues

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:58 am

stop complaining about lag its your crappy connection thats causing it so stop complaining and stop asking crytek to patch it up its basicly asking them to give a full green bar connection so all you idiots just quit it

*sigh*

There's always one idiot in every village.

I dont understand why he cant get any Informations from crytek directly? Its not that difficult :(
The following is in german, for Adam!
Hi.
Du verstehst Deutsch nehme ich an.
Mal ein wirklich ernste Frage. Warum kriegst du keine Infos direkt von Crytek ran? Isses so schwer?
Zumal man merkt
das Crytek anscheind KEIN Multiplayer Test team hatte. Alles lieblos zusammen geschustert und l?uft. Was soll das?
Du kannst diesen schnipsel ja mal an Crytek weiterleiten.
Weil man bekommt keine Infos.
Was soll das.
Bitte an Crytek weiterleiten.

It shouldn't matter where one player is and where the other resides; it should be a resounding seamless connection; I mean, there are far more OLDER games that work... That have SUPPORT to allow for these issues. The USA (Not being Anti-USA) ALWAYS gets EVERYTHING first before the rest of the world... And to be fair, I don't care what people have to say to bash or defend America, accept it, it's fact, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

Moving on... If Crytek was to actually care about their customers, to which evidently they do not, they would actually go ahead and read/listen to ALL the hundreds of thousands of people complaining about the same thing time and time again... And instead of releasing patches which fix useless things we don't actually need or want, they still fail to produce a working solution for us.

Now don't get me wrong, call me what you will, but name-shaming will not be a thing here, this post is purely fact and I intend to remain on topic and I wish to bring to the forum a commonly known game called "Battlefield Bad Company 2" now, I assume ALL of you know what that is... Perhaps one of the most unfair, unbalanced games I have ever played... And yet, years after release/launch, IT CONTINUES TO OWN FULL DEDICATED SERVER SUPPORT.

Even some of the old EA games (Such as Sports games actually support Dedicated Servers, to which they don't actually even need... It's just that EA insists and governs what games get and don't get dedi's).

So really, Crytek, EA, and anyone else who works for those companies, in anyway shape form or fashion; listen up... We (THE PEOPLE WHO BUY THE GAME IN ORDER FOR YOU TO EARN YOUR WAGES) the customer, need to actually be able to play the game... We need DEDICATED server support... Like PC, Like Bad Company 1 & 2, and Medal of Honor which is basically dead now but still has servers... For the love of pie, Gears of War 3 will have Dedi, and that's a step forward... If EPIC Games can finally listen to their customers after x amount of years, I'm sure you might want to step up the game and take a listen from the voices once in a while.

Theres just been a patch to "Fix the lag issues in Multiplayer" probably patched only PC no doubt; not to mention; if they just released a patch to "Fix lag" what the hell was the lag like beforehand?

Crytek simply need to improve their Network Coding, they know it's a problem as I've read 100's and 100's of posts on the matter.

If they don't release a patch soon to sort the p1ss poor network coding then I won't be giving them more money for the DLC.

Simples.

do you think that crytek could include a region thing like in gears of war 3 beta (which is perfect even though its a beta) so it sets you up with the closest players to you first? or a region select thing?

Hi guys,

Recently we had an issue regarding a "Version Mismatch" error that was occuring randomly for some players. As per the discussion thread, the cause of this issue has been resolved and further to this, we've also made several adjustments to the network system which we believe will result in a smoother online experience for all.

We hope to hear some feedback regarding your online experience now. Please ensure you've got the latest patch (1.1.1.8003) :D

Thanks!

I tried the multi-player again the other day. First time since my initial attempts at launch. The lag is still just as horrific. It's a joke. I had ONE game where the lag wasn't a complete hamperance and that was just a free for all game. and even then, there were only 3 people in the game that actually didn't completely and utterly shrug off every bullet I shot them with. 3 people I could actually shoot and the shots registered properly and they died. The rest of the people in it were just the same old lag problem.

If you read the post a couple up from yours, it says 'we've also made several adjustments to the network system which we believe will result in a smoother online experience for all'
I played last night and it seemed smoother overall.

Good to hear DiscoDa and yes, as you said, this fix was only made very recently (today/yesterday) so please try again now to see if it's improved. Thanks!

Hi, yes mp seems smoother here as well, but what does "retrieving session details" mean when the lobby is full waiting to start the match?

Also, is there any way to change up the map order/pairing behind the scenes without a patch? I want to get the DLC but not having a decent map rotation setup turns me off to the idea of new maps.

Please discuss that here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=26936

Best to take that to a different thread also.

Right now we just want this thread to gather feedback on the recent network changes to see if it has improved and not drag this thread off topic.

Thanks for the feedback on lag improvement :)

Still lagging, being matched with players from Brazil and Japan.
Red pings showing up and as soon as they appear it drags the performance of the lobby down.

Not much changed. I can say this, I am not sure if there is any Lag Compensation in this game. The lobbies are still one to two bars, while the host four bars. If this person knows they are the host, they dashboard if they are losing causing a lost in connection. I am wireless, and it picks me as a host most times. If a person is a bad host in the past, it should ban them from hosting. In other online games, I am never picked. Will the laggy killcam be fixed with these adjustments?

I'll believe it when I see it.

People have been asking Crytek for 2 months to fix the poor Network Coding and it's still a mess.

I'm holding onto my cash and not buying the DLC until it's sorted and patched.

Sorry bud,

Cry-Adam has already been on record saying that we won't have a patch released in time for the 17th.

These issues have been around for 2 months and still not fixed, hence why I don't really think we are going to get a patch that fixes these multiple issues.

I'm afraid that after the DLC money has come in (people are crazy if they do, but thats another matter) Crytek will shut up shop and carry on not talking to us (us usual) and we will be left piss*ng in the wind.
