Cryengine 3 Compatible with Cryengine 2?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew if you can import old CE2 Maps/Textures/Models/Scripts into the Cryengine 3. The only reason I suspect so is because of the GDC '09 Demo and the "Beauty, Speed, Interaction" trailer. Some of those screenshots and clips are EXACT replicas of of the first level of Crysis. It would be really cool if you could, because then with Sandbox 3, you could choose to make either a jungle map, a city map, or a little of both. 0.o

Very much probably you will be able to import the textures and models , after all you can reexporet and work them to fit the new engine if they changed the file format , probably the cry files will not work , as for the Levels they won't work they would be needed to rework ...

I would feel better if a mod commented on this so we know for a fact whether it does or doesnt.

Technically yes, it should be possible.

Its TECHNICALLY possible to get Far Cry 1 running on Cryengine 2 (although illegal, and EA/Crytek will find you... lol), and CE1 to CE2 is a FAR bigger change than CE2 to CE3.

Im guessing that you'd probably just need to transfer all the .pak files and level files to the new game folder. In theory that would work, at least in the editor. You would then get the files from both the default (Crysis 2) and Crysis 1 stuff in the rollup bar and such.
