CryENGINE 3 sandbox revealed?

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 5:44 pm

I just surfed over to CryTek.com and surfed to the CryENGINE 3 information
website: http://crytek.com/cryengine/cryengine3/overview

When I scrolled down to the middle I saw the CryENGINE 3 sandbox and in the text it says that players can play and create they`re own things on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Does this mean that the CryENGINE 3 sandbox editor finally comes to both PC, PS3 and X360?

Sorry for my bad English, Im from Norway.

Nope. That's a dev tool called LiveCreate.

Only developers that have purchased the engine will be able to make use of this tech. We players won't be since it requires a dev version of 2 of the consoles.

However, in order to make use of the LiveCreate feature, you're going to need a PC, or else, how would you move things around, and do certain things?

This is B*******. It could be released on another disk could it not, seriously i would not even care if the map editor was a stand alone game disk for console say about £10 or something. I just want something better than the s*** Far Cry 2 Map editor, you can't even make a waterfall on the console...

There's no editing tool?
Are we, the players, able to create our own maps on the pc, or only the "developers".

Well, PC players will most likely get the Sandbox Editor, but not the LiveCreate feature. That's for developers.

I saw something a day ago that said Sandbox Editor 3 is confirmed and is coming with Crysis 2, but then it got deleted...

Actually it was already announced that the editor is for all three.
At least PC gets it for sure.

Then I only have to say: epic fail.
The original Sandbox on the Crysis 1 disc was fun, why the hell aren't they pasting the same thing to the xbox disc and have something to kick Bungie's Forge?

Umm no. Only 1, that's PC. Unless they announce it for PS3/360, then it's still going to be on PC.

Cause they have other things to do. Plus, I don't think they have time to limit the editor for console use. At the moment anyways.

I read in a Spanish page that there will be a not commercial version of the Sandbox for the users, though surely only it will be able to be in use in PC
