I wonder if the Twitter message was related to this rather than a patch. He was R & D after all.

Looks exactly like Crysis 2.Crysis 2 looks also AMAZING from far away but if you go close to the objects it looks horrible on some parts.

Picture 5,the texture on the roof from the red house looks exactly like Crysis 2's horrible textures.

I find it funny that they even bother to show us all these gorgeous screenshots from the engine. It's not like any game made in the next few years is ever going to have that kind of image quality and effects since they are all made to be cross-platform.

I mean even Crysis2 , supposedly the showcase for this engine tech has nothing in it that can't run on the consoles too. Nice job showcasing your new tech on 6 year old hardware.

Maximum ****. It's like all those Unreal Engine demos they put out that look so amazing, yet every game that comes out using UE3 is just another garbage console game. Why bother making such a kick-ass engine if you're just going to not use 70% of it's power.

Wait a minute.... I think these screenshots are in DX9 D:

There's no POM or Tessellation (second screenshot), and the water doesn't look simulated D:<

Tesselation on wooden planks? What's the point of that?

And how do you tell stuff about the water from a static image? Water looked very nice in Crysis 2 and the ripple, current physics were really advanced...so it can only get better.

Does the engine support tessellation now? Thats the real question. What the screen shots look like doesn't really matter. I would say there is obviously a lot more geometry on display than in Crysis 2.

Whoever says the physics in Crysis 2 must have NEVER played the previous installations.

The water was definitely a step down in C2. I mean, just LOOK at both, and this becomes very obvious to the untrained eye.
