Crysis 2 6v6 MP - Official and very sad

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 6:15 pm

FFS smells like a game made for xbox 360 only but ported to ps3 and pc with crap quality just like what happens in call of duty now come on 6v6 coz xbox is to weak to connect to big server connection based multiplayer (sigh) looks like i will quit before even the release date

Lol, fanboy!
You better get your facts straight before you start complaining, kid. The 360 has supported 32 players + bots before, and can do it in modern games if the developer wants to :P
Dedicated servers are also quite possible, since Gears of War 3 will have them on 360 :P

The main problem is really the PC kids with bad rigs and the US people (and others) with their horrible connection. Really, noty even 1 Mbit and you want to play online? lol!
Get yourself a dedicated Swedish 100/100Mbit, or why not 1000/1000Mbit, and play instead! :D
I'm fed up with lag due to other people having such bad connections, but 6 vs 6 lowers the numbers of people causing lag at least in theory. To bad lag is ever-present in the beta :(

I absolutely agree. This one part of the game is a serious deal breaker for me. Going from 16on16 to 6on6 is just rediculous. I dont care if there are graphical limitations causing the downgrade, physics limitations causing the downgrade, I WANT MORE PLAYERS. Atleast on the PC version. EVEN MW2 HAS 9ON9.

I seriously hope you reconsider this 6on6 bullcrap, Crytek. "tighter and more focused" my ass. Now just me and a couple buddies can and will fill up a whole damn server, which is no fun at all. I atleast want 8on8, AT THE LEAST.

I think this is the end of Crysis and Crytek unless they come up with something MUCH better. Like those videos from their US Studio, RealTime Immersive. That's what we want and expect. Not XBox kiddie games.

I completely agree, this is really stupid, and i have played the demo on xbox and sometimes i cant find anybody for a long portion of the game because the map seems too big for 6 on 6, and its not even a big map.

Boo hoo. Go play BF 2142 then. You act like having 400 player MP matches is the future. I've played games with huge lobbies. It svcks. The experience is a lot more controlled, and in my eyes exciting when the stakes are higher. Having tons of players can just make things confusing, and you spend as much time dying as killing unless you camp. More skill is required in small matches.

Of course there is the possibility that there will be "big" modes featuring more players per lobby. I mean, beggars can't be chosers. You won't be playing this game much a year or two after release, so why's it a big deal. They've crafted a really solid experience, some of you should learn to appreciate things like that instead of biching like spoiled brats.

Obviously, your one of the SP players who doesn't get MP. Won't be playing this game after a year or two? How funny. Tell that to all the people who still play Crysis Wars, and will be playing it for years to come, now that everyone sees Crysis 2 is a bad joke.

lol @ people who think 6v6 is too small...

Honestly, comming from a competitive gamer (50 in MLG in H3), 6v6 is fine. I don't see the big deal why you want like a 12 v 12.

Stupid thread

Gears of War is 4v4 and it turned out fine. 6v6 is just perfect for Crysis 2 IMO. It requires you to be more tactical in your approach.

Gears of War? You compared that horrible excuse of a franchise to Crysis? They have nothing in common and never should.

It is an unfortunate day when Crysis gets compared to that trash. Sad part is that Crysis has become that trash. ^-^

You guys are missing the point. Crytek is not making a gameplay decision, they are making a money decision.

The ancient, decrepit, piece of crap hardware in the PS3 and Xbox 360 cannot handle over 12 players. You have to realise that they are trying to push a graphical game on a 7800gtx, a graphics card that COULD-NOT-PLAY the original Crysis on anything over Low+640x480.

If they make a two tier game, with 32 player PC and 12 player console, the console gamers will cry foul and sales will fall.

For this reason, PC gamers who have moved into the year 2010 and actually have decent graphics hardware will suffer.
Technically the PS3 can hold hundreds of players however the graphics are to low for crysis. This 256 person FPS (MAG) proves it is possible but would it feel like crysis if you feel like you were playing an indie game on steam. I think that this is why the games are smaller at least on console. A squad system for 16 v. 16 would be awesome on PC though. XD

If your a PC player, don't worry. As soon as we get our hands on the SDK, that 6v6 will be total history. I've seen Crysis 1 test out 92 people on a server. It was fun, if a little hard on the net. I'm sure you will see at 32 people on most servers. We PC players demand it. Or no sale.

If your not a PC player, consider getting one. I just bought a low end laptop for $800 dollars, and it can run Crysis 1 at medium at about 18-20 fps, which is pretty smooth. Core 2 duo at 2.2 ghz, Radeon 5400M, 4GB memory. I'm sure Crysis 2 is going to run even better on CE3.

With an XBox, PS3, your stuck with what you get, at the mercy of the manufacturers, and no mods.

I actually liked the 6on6 matches in MW2 and regulary play Black Ops (with a friend's account - I certainly didn't buy that piece of crap) on 12 slot servers.

BUT 32+ slot dedicated servers are a must have for us hardcoe gamers!

I would love to see both dedicated (for 16on16 matches) and listen (for 6on6 matches) servers in Crysis 2 (and any other arcade style shooter).

Btw. 6on6... that doesn't sound as if Crytek is planning on giving us PC gamers dedicated servers, does it? Will it be similar to MW2? Because in that case I WON'T buy the frickin' game.

They know they have to give us PC players dedicated servers, or we won't buy the game. I've already cancelled my preorder. I'm not happy with a lot of the stuff I've seen, and now I'm waiting for the demo and word on Sandbox, dedicated servers, and SDK, before I think about buying it.

I think it's better that they have 6 vs 6. Teamplay is more valuable to win, instead of 32 players rushing over the map and shooting each other. The gameplay is tighter, and makes it easier to play with good friends. I don't think there are going to be noob weapons, like Crysis 1 had (Gauss Rifle, SCAR) So there won't be no need for that. Dedicated servers have been confirmed almost 2 months ago.

Oh, we'll still have the SCAR. That and the AKM were main weapons. I think by "noob" weapons, your talking about people using the LAW rocket launcher against infantry. Which it wasn't made for. Its a shaped charge weapon, made to defeat armor. If you want something like that against Infantry, you need one of the FAE (Fuel-Air Explosive) or HE rounds made for weapons like the SMAW. The Chinese also make some good ones. Your probably also talking about the 6 barrel 40mm grenade launcher used by people. But these are all high priced weapons which limits them in game. They were also borked by unrealistic long reloading times. Same with the Gauss.

In the end, the SDK on the PC will change a lot of things on a lot of servers.

I am die-hard/hardcoe PC FPS'r and I actually do prefer smaller amounts of people. It makes for some intense firefights, your less likely to be shot in the back by 16+ other people, and smaller games bring teams together.

That being said, I still want to see the option for an SDK. The more options, the better.

Indeed, CS:S usually is 5v5. From what i've seen (apart from the quite nooby playstyles due to not knowing how to handle a nanosuit) the multiplayer seems quite fun, if not particular an earth shaker. The slower pace will be a welcome change from the caffeine overdosed multiplayer of games like cod.

Lol, we can agree on that. Like a bunch of monkeys on meth. Snipers hip firing their rifles even. Too funny!

I miss the old CS. Most games are too much like COD now. People must drink about 3 or 4 cokes before they play. Too much run and gun, and not enough thought, or use of cover. In fact, I don't think those people know what cover is. No wonder they hate snipers. I love when these types come into Crysis Wars servers. They just run out into the open. Easy kills.

In my opinion... All will be relived in due time.....But one thing I would like to see is the next console generation, because for a few years consoles will be on the same level as PC's.. Which means nothing will be dumped down..
