A higher player count would require them to make new maps, exclusively for PC.

Wow this thread is still going? Kinda funny and sad at the same time.

Has there even been a single developer post on this thread? If not, doesn't that show you this is going no where? Less QQ.

I don't know, I honestly think numbers of players in a match does not decide how good the match will be. For instance I was a CS adicted, and honestly (that's only my fair oppinion) I think that CS was one of the best shooters ever. Small teams, lots of strategy, you HAVE to learn how to become a badass player = supper awsome match. Lots and lots of players and everything exploding and more reloading then actually shooting is fun in the begin, but it doesn't make for an epic battle in my oppinion.

Any comments?

It depends very much for me. In Crysis 2 multiplayer having seen the size of the maps, the gameplay mechanics I think 6vs6 or 8vs8 matches will be great. If there's more then I believe the mathes could become less tactical and fun. For example if I get into a firefight with someone I want to be able to use the space around, perhaps escape or grab a ledge and jump on top of a roof without having to worry too much about other enemies. If there are too many enemies in each team I believe there will be too many in the open field or too many camping because using you nanosuit abilities and the gameplay mechanics such a grabing a ledge will make you a target easier since there are more enemies scouting. However if the maps would have been larger, but with not too open areas, I think more than 8vs8 player matches would have been great as well.

I think it depends on many things such as the map size, the amount of open areas of the map and the gameplay mechanics. I enjoyed Battlefield Bad Company 2's 32player matches but I also enjoy ArmA 2: Operation Arrowheads multiplayer which is much more open and bigger than both Crysis 2 and BF: Bad Company 2, but then the gameplay mechanics are totally different on all three of those games.

when all you pc gamers get to play the demo on March 1st you'll all realize that 6v6 is perfect for crysis 2. Crytek has focused on play quality over numbers. i would rather play on a small team with tactics than a large team that just runs and guns.

Yes, but Counterstrike also has support for much larger matches than 6on6 and can be quite fun with large playercounts.

Crysis 2 lacks this option for large playercounts at all and while yes, smaller teamplay can be very fun, I also enjoy larger matches... Especially for a game like Crysis where the original had 32 player wide open battles. This is Crysis, not Counterstrike or CoD (although I do like those games also).

Just saw this thread, 6v6 with no powerstruggle = canceled preorder, I just wish I knew sooner. Thanks Crytek for the false hope that Crysis 2 would be an improvement on the original Crysis.

Agreed, but since consoles can't even run it, Crytek won't bother giving it to the PC gamers as an option, so I deserve to be a whinny noob who canceled his preorder.

There sure are a lot of PC elitists crying like babies in here. However, I don't understand what consoles have to do with 6v6. Several FPS on consoles have much bigger player capacities.

We've already played, and dumped, it. Don't expect too many people to show up for the demo. I'll do it only if they show DX11. I don't have any more interest in playing it. It felt like a very dumbed down version of COD on tiny maps. In fact, everyone who was playing it has sinced dumped it. Out of a 100 servers two weeks ago, there are only 2 left.

@Black Storm - Not being a PC player or having played Crysis 1, I guess you just can't understand quality. Enjoy your **** game.

Hell I didn't even know what Crysis was until a week or two ago but from what I saw it looked amazing, but the way I hear people biching and complaining about it makes me apprehensive to buy it. Homefront is coming out and I may go for that instead.

See, that's the problem. A lot of console players coming in here and not understanding why the old PC players are really mad. Watch some HD YouTube videos of Crysis 1 or Wars and you'll understand. Especially the video Crytek put out on Power Struggle.

I would like a variety of different amounts of players allowed in each game, like 6 vs 6 on some game types, but 12 vs 12 on others, I don't see why that wouldn't work because it would satisfy everyone... also, will there be some kind of survival/horde mode to play in?

You don't understand. We've all played the leak. There is nothing left to "not understand". Were just not happy with what we have seen. Its a tiny console shooter. NOTHING like Crysis 1 or Wars. And having waited three years for this, we PC players are upset, to say the least. I've seen an average modder already do something with the Sandbox better than they have given in C2. The MP is total svck.

Agreed with all your posts. I suggest you stop admitting to playing the leak though or you will be facing an angry banhammer shortly.

The consoles forced smaller maps, which in turn forced the smaller player cap. You really can't cram 16 players per team in the current C2 maps.

I Have my Battlefield 3 for big maps , BOLPS for Twitch training and Crysis 2 will be for my crazy ninja nano suit fun. I do not see a problem here. :)

Anyway I understand you hardcoe crysis players REALLY REALLY want your Crysis wars back....well sorry IT AIN'T HAPPENING.

Unlike Battlefield which sells itself on it one of a kind Battlefield experience, Crysis is selling its self on the SP and the Nano-suit MP. Not the same one you guys had but the one that works for everyone. The MP does look unique and different. I am partly buying Crysis 2 for the Mirrors Edge's like Parlor running, the suit powers and the story. You can cry about "where is 'Power Struggle' but THE MP WAS NOT POPULAR. I was really kind of ticked at how different Wars MP was from the SP. I did see what you were talking about with cool moves that were learned but really "you guys" created the MP's style not Cry-tek. That is why they had not problem in changing it. It was too unique for its good.

It was not bad but I understand there was ONLY 5000 of you people that understood it. That is not enough to justify keeping the same MP. Sorry, Crytek is a business. They got to make dough and they wanted to try something different with an 'partly unimportant' part of the game to see if it will work. You guys = vs. a least 20000 Gamers (They expanded their potential mp base by at least three fold) that might like this Crysis MP more. So sorry but the money WINS. Get it?

Note: I have a only a PC so no CONSOLE NOOB CRAP.

Sadly, EmpReb is correct. Everything we liked in Crysis was removed specifically because everyone, except a small minority of hardcoe players, yelled at Crytek that it's nothing but a tech demo that no one can run. Now they've made it so it's NOT a tech demo, and everyone's yelling at them that it's not Crysis anymore. I really see no way out for these guys, and financially speaking, our ideal scenario of getting Crysis 1, only better, is unfeasible.
