YOu can't just "patch" dx11 you know? Or else you will get what you get with BFBC2 which looks about the same with DX9 vs DX11.

I think only supporting DX9 is ridiculous. Even the original supported DX10. The leaked beta also only had the option of 'hardcoe, gamer or advanced' for its graphical settings.

Crytek did a good job making a great looking game run on low end hardware, but there should be an option to really stress the modder's SLI 580s if he/she wanted to.

I'm sorry, but they say "Crysis 2 will support DirectX 11". That doesn't say anything, that it won't be available at launch. You can't read out of that, that it "almost definitely" won't ship with Dx11 at launch. In fact it sounds more like they want to show some Dx11 features soon.

Seriously what is going on? When will the game have DX11 and will it be proper DX11 or just paying lip service to the hardware capabilities of our GPU's?

Unsubstantiated rumor being listened to by people determined to hate the game for coming out on consoles. If you track down the swedish web page, they say they have it from some nvidia thing talking about the 580.

560ti is a newer card, and nvidia specifically mentions Crysis 2 as a DX11 game on their product page for the 560.

And "patching" for DX11 would be more accurately expressed as "Releasing 2 entirely different games with entirely different graphics engines for the sole purpose of losing money on production".

I cant believe that is not directx 11 or 10 when crysis 2 comes out.
last Christmas I bought a new gamer computer ready for whatever comes in the future and especially for Crysis 2 and then I realize that I can only use DX9 ...
I canceled my pre-order and i only will buy Crysis 2 when it is complete with all the graphic options
I think somehow the consols has something to do with this and I'm disappointed with Crytek

It was announced by NVIDIA when they were talking about their GTX 590 cards... Pretty sure they know what's going on, seeing that they invested $2 million. Yes, DX11 is confirmed but will it be included at launch? Will it be a marketing gimmick or truly implemented?

Cryteks total disregard to the PC population nowadays is absolutely disgusting. They give us the middle finger, I give them the middle finger right back. Not purchasing any console ported crap. Battlefield 3 it is then. Atleast you made my purchase decision easy, Crytek.

yo these **** with their max console signs can go back to black ops they were never pc fans and they need to **** off. Show me proof from a crytek employee of them stating their is no dx11 in the final version for pc. Thats right no proof its a rumor most rumors are wrong anyway

Prime example of the pitfalls of insta-formation. I want it NOW, NOW, NOW, NOW!!! I just want to know what happened to Psycho and Nomad since we have a general idea what happens to Prophet. That cliffhanger @ the end of C1 makes me feel like C2's writer just went, "Meh," at that and did his own thing. Little over 2 weeks to go. Plus, shipping w/ or w/out dx11 isn't a deal breaker for me, BUT, "Crytek prides itself on pushing the boundaries..." Batter up....

It takes them literally only one sentence to kill the rumor: "Crysis 2 will have DX11 support right out of the box (or with a day 1 patch)" That's it. That's all it takes to stop the craziness. We don't need screenshots or trailers, just one sentence long official statement from Crytek. Why the f is this so hard?
