Crysis 2 already pirated on consoles

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 8:23 am

Well, after they blame us PC gamers of the piracy effects. Nowadays, consoles have a strong piracy, i believe that it's much more strong than in PC (we just need to surf through torrent trackers to see how much console pirated games has avaiable).

After all, Crytek must admite that PC gamers are more valuabe than consoles' and they shouldn't ever treat us with a consoled game (MP 6x6, "press start", "adjust your tv", blurred antialiasing, no detailed graphic settings, among others).

I'm hoping the total amount of people who download the console version will be in the tens of thousands along with the huge amounts who downloaded the PC leak.

Kinda hoping the PS3 version fails. REALLY HOPING just so Crytek & EA get a lesson on why not to lie and release crap and to think they can get away with it.

CHEERS TO FAILURE!

This is a strange time now because PC gamers are waking up to the fact that piracy on PC damages the PC. Now alot of hackers are PC Gamers they must've also realized that hacking console games damages the consoles and then by comparison makes developing on PC more attractive to developers.

It is also now it seems easier than ever to hacked console games.

Yea, it's really sad to see that every game gets leaked early on consoles. Console piracy is killing console gaming.

I mean everyone is blaming the PC for those leaks & etc. - The Crysis 2 final dev build leak was a sad thing. But I didn't see any early leak other than the E3 doom 3 leak...and that was back in 2004? 2005? something like that.

Just visit any piracy website 1-2 weeks before a game gets released. You'll only see X360 leaks. PS3 leaks are rare. I'm sure you won't see Crysis 2 for the PC on the net before the official release date. the PC scene works with retail & steam versions. They buy it, crack it and release it.

Most people don't hack their consoles--only a small number of pirates. On the other hand, every PC that can run Crysis 2 can run the leak from from January.

PC players have been standing on the side lines since the first announcement of this game. From people begging for beta keys to watching the consolers having first crack at the multi- player. The game was born on PC and was a success (putting the lame piracy issue aside). There has been a lack of respect to its birth place.

The game without doubt will be watered down due to the consoles (Multi-player for example).
When the PC Beta version leaked onto a torrent site (obviously from Cryteck itself) Cryteck stated that they would still remain loyal to the PC customers; Hooray! But; EA announced afterwards that it was a serious blow to the PC world. CEO DETECTED.... ARMOUR MODE ENGAGED!
Cryteck released a great game, Crysis 1 and Warhead. I just feel, as a PC gamer, that this hole experience from Crysis 2's announcement, to the rap of piracy, has been unjustifed. Piracy is happening on all fields. Enough of pointing the finger of blame on the PC world.

Being exclusive to the pc is less money-making than going to consoles as well. The piracy thing is just a justifier to do it.

And console piracy is huge among some other countrys, like Brazil, where I live.

there is a big second pirated game market for consoles. In countries like Brazil, India and other developing countries where ppl might not have huge bandwidth, might opt to buy a modded console along with pirated games from a store.

XBL is only in 30 countries if I am correct. And most ppl will just play offline so there is no fear of getting banned from xbla.
Pc piracy is not big in high income countries. In US ppl like to buy pc games but not in India.

I find it amusing that console players can't figure out that second-hand sales are the exact same thing as piracy, only the buyer is stupid enough to pay.

Only if the product makers make the consumer sign and agreement that says it is illegal to resell it.

Like the EULA? Or do console games lack that?
Either way, the point is that devs and publishers and actually everyone involved (even the seller) still get 0 profit from second-hand sales.

How is that learning a lesson? Not to make a game on the PC? Cus you know if they do blame piracy, they are going to blame PC. All that means is they wont do a sequel (No more Crysis ever again) and they will probably not trust PC anymore and just continue to do crappy ports IF they even want to do a multiplat with the PC.

All this piracy stuff does is hurt PC gamers. It doesn't show a message. It doesn't make devs cry. It probably will barely affect people's salaries at Crytek. All it does is hurt the gamers. Thats it.

Every format is probably hacked by now. The reason why it's early is because people have received retail copies in advance of the release date.

And Toyota saw 0 profit when I bought my used Corolla, but that's not piracy.

Isn't it? It's a lost sale to Toyota.

Buying second hand games it's not the question, and I remember a case when a guy went to court because he wanted to resell his windows, and in the EULA says that is illegal, but you can't prohibit anyone from reselling whats yours, but with downloadable content it's different of course.

I just saw Crysis 2 Xbox download, it's sad, but nowadays every game leaks, and I doubt Crytek will stop making pc games because of that, they have a huge fanbase to support them
