Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 story contradiction and discussion

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 7:10 am

Thanks man.

But really I didn't know that they rebooted the franchise. There is no point of arguing about why nomad didn't go back to Island and fought there and such things. They rebooted and related Crysis 2 to Crysis however they wanted them to be related. I kinda pissed me off but then I gave it thoughts and realized what Crysis was. It came from FarCry. So they had major changes in the story line (even though farcry was exactly happening in tropical jungle then aliens get involved) and renamed it as Crysis. Now they wanted to change some stuff they called it Crysis 2 but a reboot. Crysis 3 will be a reboot too if there ever will be one.

All you need to know is that Crytek needed to change the environment from a lush, open Jungle to a City made of rooms and narrow corridors because consoles can't handle the Island (without reducing the quality to "crap" setting). Any and all gaps in the story are incidental to the bottom line, which is money.

Oh coincidentally Predator 2 originally was planned to be set in New York. But it was changed to LA.

One more thing there is another topic similar to the discussion in this one.

I don't see the contradictions. We don't know what happened to Psycho or Nomad, but then again they weren't exactly the central point of the entire story. From what the ingame videos say (you need to watch every single one all the way through if you want to get the story), they may be dead or fused with their nanosuits; maybe we'll find out in a Warhead-style expansion that focuses on what happened between the end of C1 and the start of C2. As for the aliens, the Lingshan Ceph may have been perhaps a different race, or a different branch, or a different era of Ceph tech than the ones in New York. To me, the NYC Ceph seemed more militarized, so it may have been that the NY Ceph were an actual trained army as opposed to random scouts or settlers or whatever making use of whatever weapons they happened to have on hand at Lingshan.

I only bought the 2nd one and if they mentioned any of that i would be confused out of my mind so maybe to keep the story nice they didnt mention there names.

I am not real sure were i heard it but as an explanation i think they said that they altered there biology and technology to better combat humans i could be wrong though. As for nomad and psycho there mentioned in prophets flashbacks but it never really gave an explanation. imo there either dead or are going to appear in crysis 3 (if cry 3 is released)
