Crysis 2 “Better On PC” Due To Console Versions

I'm not preaching, I'm just posting my own opinions. Seriously, what the hell is your problem?

So how is the pc version supposed to be better? Will it actually scale with a multi gpu setup? Maybe its just the anti aliasing that will make it better? Will dedicated servers make it better? How about some real info?

+1

We don't know, which is why we need more info. You can throw as much hardware at the game as you want but that doesn't mean it magically becomes better and after a while it's certainly not practical.

There are a mere two months before the game releases. The fact that only Xbox 360 content has been released officially is extremely suspicious. I'm losing faith in Crytek/EA.

Actually alcatraz is a fail name for a character cause this name is the name of an island prison facility . Yes everytime i pronanounce alcatraz i think of that .
Now as for crysis 2 and how consoles helped pc its such a fail argument i must say cause if the developer has something in mind he can do it even with 10 ppl .Look for example cdprojeckt and witcher 2 .If Mr.Cevat wants to hide behind his finger that's okay but saying consoles help a pc game being better is a joke . The truth behind all these is the money and the greedy companies ,publishers . Crytek has already sell its cryengine 3 and its gonna sell more but the thing tha dissapoints me most is that few developers out try something new and risky.
I wanted so much to see a sequel of crysis continuing the story from where crysis 1 ended but w8...now that crysis 2 is on consoles we cant make 2 as sequel we have to reset the all thing cause console gamers havent played 1 !

His name is probably alcatraz because it's a good metaphor for the character. Alcatraz is a soldier who is literally imprisoned in the Nanosuit 2 (iirc there were story details leaked about this). I still think its a dumb name though. Why not just call him prison - it's two syllables: pri-son ;)

Anyway, I don't know why Cevat bothered saying this. It's not reassurance when it's something so obviously wrong. It's just plain insulting. Crytek and EA are more than welcome to prove me wrong, but from what I've seen Crysis 2 is a downgrade from the original in almost every single category. The fact that they refuse to officially show the PC version even though the launch is only two months off makes me think they're ashamed of it.

It's wasn't a promise, just a statement. Thus we can't have any right to alter.

The Cryengine 3 is no downgrade of the Cryengine 2. As far as I have seen take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Kvl31g77Z8

I think their not showing any footage of PC or PS3 because they want to save best for last you know?

I hope so, but I'm not so optimistic (hope for the best prepare for the worst sort of thing, I guess).

I hope the PC version looks at least as good as this:

Maybe that is going to be PC's benchmark. It seems like a benchmark test at least.

Nope, it's meant to show that they are indeed still making a pc version.

Everyone knows that they're making a PC version. What PC gamers want to know is how the game will play. We want IN-GAME footage.

Tough, everyone knows the eggs box £3.60 is the only gaming platform, ever.

Or at least that's what the crytek company memo was a few weeks back ;)

It helped the pc version because they used the same low-res textures (and not only textures) on the pc too.
That's why they said Crysis 2 it's going to run better than the first Crysis on low-end machines.

OR!!!!! !!! They might have OPTIMIZED IT!!!

But I'd guess you wouldn't know that, according to your previous posts, you don't know the difference between optimization & lowering graphic settings.

HBAO alone is probably about half as demanding as it was back in 2007 thanks to optimizing the algorithmic (i'm assuming crytek are using SSAO anyway, which is even better) :)
