Crysis 3 Box art

I don't know about you guys, but personally I'm not very keen over the boxart of Crysis 3 and I hope they don't do away with the famous Crysis "over the shoulder look" pose as used in the previous games. For me the pose is just awesome, it's synonymous with Crysis and shows off the Nanosuit the best.

I can understand that they want to show of the bow in Crysis 3, but how about using the same pose, but of instead holding the SCAR he holds the bow (with better labeling placement)? Just imagine...

Imho it's original and pretty nice. The way Prophet is standing there on Liberty's destroyed head, holding the bow with ruined New York as the background gives a "Predator" or "Hunter" feeling to the player.

The old ones were plain and generic, pretty much like any modern shooter cover with a soldier on a standing pose holding a gun: Halo 3, MW2, BFBC2, BF3, MoH, etc; or any Dragon Ball game with Goku right in the middle of the pic using a Kamehameha or powering up. They're always the same.

Well at least it's better than "random generic soldier in the middle with a gun"

The cover is fine. It's supposed to give you a feel of the game and it does that very well. I actually like it a lot and really like how it doesn't focus on the character but the scenery. It's a refreshing change and might be my favourite cover for a game of all time.

I would prefer a different cover for Crysis 3, more close up of the nanosuit with a more detailed backdrop of the setting like the nanodome. I feel the current cover is just too subtle. They say not to judge a book by it's cover but almost everyone does.

Maybe it's just due to the labels that are spammed all over the place (no idea why companies can't keep their logos on the back, looks much better), but in a personal Top 10 of box arts, that wouldn't even be considered.

Take a look at the box arts posted below. Some are cheesy as hell, some are from games I wouldn't play if you paid me, but they all look better than Crysis 3's rectangle of mediocre:

Take a look at them, now back to Crysis. Back to them, back to Crysis. Don't you feel the latter has something lacking?

A cover is supposed to stand out on a shelf, introduce you to the game with one striking image. For Crysis, a series famous for visual appeal, to have something so dull and forgettable doing this job is ridiculous. I sure hope it's a placeholder.

The main problem with the current cover is that there isn't much color variation. The picture itself isn't too bad..
