After one week after meet Crysis 2 my GeForce 9800 is dead... nice game!

How much wattage is your PSU, and what brand? Games are not likely to kill videocards, with the exception of StarCraft II and maybe Fallout 3. Primary things that kill videocards: Power supply, or the card itself is to blame (Nvidia is notorious for bad chips, and faulty fan autospeed stuff).

It was probably not the game... You might wanna check your PSU's voltages, the 12v rail might be out of whack. Too little or too much voltage being put through will gradually kill videocards. It happened to me a few years ago, my PSU's 12v rail was somehow putting too much voltage through. It killed 2 videocards, before I was finally able to identify the root problem. Thank goodness EVGA has such awesome support, they replaced both of em, no questions asked. Had to RMA the powersupply, and it was repaired and sent back to me.

Crysis 2 only kills NVDIA cards. Score one for Radeon!

No it doesn't so -1 for ATI. Sorry bud but my GTX 460 SE which is Nvidia, EVGA hasn't been killed. So stop with the ignorant fanboyism. It's plain user error has nothing to do with the game.

LOL what are you, retarded? I was joking. Chill the F out, dude. I don't give a rat's ass what kind of card you have, seriously, I don't. If you're so bent up around GFX wars that you can't see the levity in my statement, you need to step outside and take a deep breath.

ROFLMAO You act like I was deeply offended. News flash m8, the internet doesn't convey emotions, like wise sarcasm is harder to express on the internet through text.

Jesus.... talking about someone who needs a chill pill lmao!

Thanks for the laugh though.

YEEEEEEAAAAAA that's what I'm talking about XD I have an all AMD system....SOO FREAKING reliable. I had a 4850 overclocked and upgraded to a 6970, but not because my 4850 burned out like a usual NVIDIA 9800....mainly because I just wanted to upgrade and it was fine :) AMD FTW....ATI FTW

Sarcasm isn't as hard as you think it is. Most of us get it pretty readily.

But you're right about one thing; the internet doesn't convey emotions - that's why you have to actually think about what you're reading! Oh well, better luck next time.

You're welcome ;-)

I'd say the OP never cleaned his computer for dust etc and the gpu burned out. I reckon user error by negligence tbh.

Are you serious the HD4850 ran at 80c on idle its a pile of crap card thats why went back to Nvidia. So I think I'll stick with Nvidia and Intel thank you!

By the way Crysis 2 is fine some folks nee to sort out thier machines cooling.

This the only game that ever turned my display into a kaleidoscope and then informed me that the driver failed and was removed and then blue screened! 2x BFG GTX 285's factory OC. I then tried Farcry 2 and the display was still screwed. I then removed the top card and the bottom was fine. I let the primary card cool for awhile and put in back in and thankfully it was okay. I just glad i was not in SLI mode or it might have tried to take them both out.

Ok, thanks for replay. First I dont OC my card, have a 430 w power. I dont use maxim resolution (1920 x 1200 ) I dont use max grafic on Crysis, I leave default for better performance. I dont blame Crytek, Crysis, alien mother ship for my dead card... but this is true: when I enter the server game crash... restart and my bios text are weird, windows dont load say try to recover and nothing happend after restart. The screen is full of horizontal broken lines... and tomorrow ill buy a Asus GeForce GTX 460 DirectCU 1GB DDR5 256-bit... hope this make me happy!

artifact you to the screen, it does not come from a Crysis 2, but overheating of your card and maybe a little too pc tower, heating your card too, and unfortunately she just let go on crysis 2 , that's life guys, but do not say it's because of crysis 2 because it has nothing to do

Your PSU might be a little underpowered for a GTX460 but that card is a better card to use than your original. Post details of your PSU and other specs, if it's a high quality 430w you 'might' be OK.
