Crysis 2 cheaters aren't so bad now...

Post » Sat Aug 11, 2012 4:44 pm

After playing like 6-8 hours of crysis 2 all day, I was finally like, okay just take a break now..
I go on mw3, my first 6 games... Aim botters, teleporters, wallers... If you think crysis 2 is bad, play mw3 and you'll feel like you went to prison..
Note: I put this cause Valve are known to have the best anti-cheat system, but this tore it away.. For a game from activision, you need to report...--'

The thing is, in a game like COD the playerbase is like 8x larger then anything C2 could ever hop to snag. When your banned in COD you need to typically rebuy the game and deal with the reprocussions of having the lable "VAC BANNED" on your account profile. Vac has a hammer behind it that hurts with a stamp of forever, so cheaters are usually using more crafty soulutions rather then the simplisitic ways to hack in Crysis 2.

I'd like some input from BoomIjustShotYou on how circumventing Vac and the consequences of being caught stack up against the Crysis 2 setup.

Im not too sure how valuable this will be but in terms of circumventing Vac as well as PB is an ongoing thing especially in regards to PB. BF3 for example. I do not have enough competency to take on PB so let's use AA as a worthy entity. AA came out of the gates hammering everyone (and still are) and about 2 months in they started getting caught. Then they revamped the screen shot spoofer and were safe for awhile. Then they ran into troubles with aimbotting and their response was a fix plus releasing instakills as a retaliatory measure. Consequences are stiff as end users had to go through a lot of stuff to get back in game and really only boiled down to harassing bf3 support to get off restrictions. Comparitively, PB and Vac are much more strict in how they drop the hammer vs c2. In c2, the worst punishment to date is having to buy a new serial to play (at around $14 use). There is no monitoring of md5 manipulation which is insanely negligent. There's no known permabans or hardware bans either. That being said, true coders like AA would most certainly issue a fix for their bots. Here's the thing. Aimbotting imo is not the worst thing. the worst things are soft hacks like ammo/nrg/speed etc. Those equate to md5 tricks. I say they're worse b/c ppl who use them often play and attest they're legit and in the end you never really know. I prefer a complete hey Im outta the closet prison raqe fest but Im in the minority. Now if c2 used pb those kinds of hacks would be severely limited. Places like AA do not offer those kinds of hacks b/c PB is good at detecting them. So, it really does boil down to the idea that Crytek really needed to employ PB. It wouldn't completely stop everyone but look at some "demographics". Say 200 kids [who often don't have tons of money to burn] used soft hacks that pb detected, you would have a pretty good deterrent from using them again esp. in the face of permabans where they may not even have the option to do so. So to come full circle, c2 doesn't even have a negligible measure of consequence. If anything its a revenue generator. When I used to get key banned Id just buy new keys and continue on.

For c3, it should be requisite to use PB and if they don't know that by now its going to be a circus upon beta and so on. I will most certainly be testing the waters on release in full boom fashion. Im incapable of not meddling (I'm always a little at odds with what I do because I genuinely get a sad feeling Im ruining some experiences) but will reign my self in accordingly once the long term players stick around. I can't explain why its fun to figure things out. It's like an oh shizz this really worked moment.

I dunno if that added any insight but hey it's Friday and Ive been slowly tapping my last bottle of Havana
Club (in which should have been gone by last week lol).......

Apologies for the wall-o-text and in the vigilant words of TSAndrey....."the cheater is still not banned."

Have one for me BOOM;) I'm sure you'll have a hard look @ c3 when beta comes out and you will let us know. Cry Boys (i hope) have been keeping up to date on these forums and hopefully will not deliver another MP POS.

Forgot to add ... how's Bangladesh?
