Post » Sun Dec 19, 2010 10:23 pm

hi so i got crysis 2 great game but i have a little bit of lag and i had a question.

well first ill post my computers stats and then ill ask :D

Processor: ADM phenom(tm) II x4 810 Procsess 2.60 GHz

Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.75 Gb usable)

system type: 64 bit operating system

and im not sure were to find my graphic card info but when i start crysis 2 it says my graphics card is unkown and may cause random crashes etc.

so my question is what can i do to make the game not lag and run fine? is 8.00 GB of ram fine and do i just need a new graphics card or what?

hope someone can help thanks

Sounds to me like you need a legit graphics card. However, I am no expert.

Try bumping the resolution down and put the settings to "High" (how ironic)

Download a program called cpuid (free) or gpu-z and thatll help figure out what gfx card youre using and thus help us help you with your question

I would recommend doing a run at cpuid as well just to see everything you have for your personal knowledge, or you can also view your display adapters in device manager.

However an alternative option would be to run DirectX Diagnostics (start-run: type "dxdiag") this will provide you with your video card statistics. You are welcome to post the general log information here so we can know the situation.

You may have a decent card (possibly not updated/compatible) to partner with that quad core and 8GB ram, which is a fine amount!

The minimum system requirements can be found in the general forums

My guess is it's the card..Ram and CPU are ok seeing this is a console port...graphics are onboard I assume and onboard graphics are generally not a lot better than ****...replace the card and you should be fine. This is certainly nothing like the first game for being any sort of system breaker, any card from a 9600 and up will run it..probably 8800's even.

even though technically a Nvidia 8800gt and newer will run the game go ahead and make sure you buy either a GTX 400 or 500 series card or a Nvidia 5000 to 6000 series card so that you support DX11 either on this game if its patched in or on future ones.
