Is Crysis 2 a console port?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 10:30 pm

Will there be graphics setting on final product? Like AA , AF and some check boxes etc.If there arent, why?By the way what about directx 11? will dx11 be at the launch of the game or it will come later like a patch? I will buy the boxed game but these things makes me hate this game.I hope Crytek didnt sold PC gamers out.

No. It is not a console port.

Black Ops is a console port. So is Dead Space 2.

Crysis 2 is designed to fit xbox360 first place, but it doesn't mean the quality has to suffer, it is just not Crysis1.

Crysis 2 demo: console port
Crysis 2 full game: dedicated PC development (not a console port)

Dead Space with CryEngine would be the best game in existence. Just sayin'.

Anyways back on topic. Crysis 2 is not a console port. No matter how much the whiny PC elitists complain about how it's not like C1, it's still not a port.

I don't think Crytek would leave us PC gamers with only three graphics options. (Crytek, I trust you.)

Black Ops is a console port. So is Dead Space 2.

For the sake of argument, i do not see BO anywhere near a console port. We have 4 servers and we are all having a blast and nothing "consolely".

The C2 demo feels like a copy xbox port with a server browser added for the pc.

Having almost no info regarding servers, mod (if any), type of control and so on is also an indication.

Each has their own opinion, i respect youres, now just respect mine.

I never entered a server on a PC game (with dedicated servers) and joined into what appears to be a lobby (console/MW2) before the game starts. That is another sign of it being a console port.

They just did.

Seriously, options at all? you do know what kind of programing they have to do to get those options (aa, af, textures, motion blue, and the rest like C1) to be visible alone?

Those who say, use the config file, you fail badly if you say so. People who run benchmarks (aka crazy gamers) will not say what "options" in the config file they have, but which settings in the options menu.

I will play Crysis 2 on my PC even if i can't max out the graphics. (I cant anyway because my video card does not support DX11.)

I do not see it going that way, not at all.

Crysis 1 was designed from scratch to be future proof. Crysis 2, by the looks of things, was designed to be a console game with COD MP game style and features.

On the whole it's good but Crazy Train spotting babies with spider legs are not really ideal for a game IMO.

It's in the leak.

The demo was a console build. Unless anyone here can see into the future or works for crytek and would like to spill the beans, then we aren't going to know until the 22nd

Yeah it is. But thats still doesn't excuse crazy train spotting babies with spider legs. No reason it has to look stupid to be scary.
