Crysis 2 crashing every mission

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:02 am

So, just bought my copy of Crysis 2
Game is awesome and i really love it.

I have some seriously issues, my game is crashing to windows every time I finish a mission. the new mission is loading, then I see my weapon or can play for several seconds and the game crashes without any error. showing ''send error report''. Multi-player is crashing too. Sometimes I'm able to play 3 or 4 matches but most likely its crashing after two matches.
I installed New graphic card drivers and reinstalled DirectX. Game is patched to v1.1
I don't think it's a hardware problem because my game is running very smooth and there are no lags on multi and single player mode. I had same problems on Multi-player demo, but I thought it's a demo and it's a xbox port so I didn't care.

My hardware specs are:
Windows Xp professional sp3
AMD Athlon II 2x 3.0GHz
4GB RAM
GF 9600GT 512
DirectX 9.0c

Hope somebody can help me.
I'm waiting for next patch to come out soon, if I can't do nothing now.
Sorry for my bad English.

Dominikk.

(I did a new thread because I didn't find something like that via search on the forum. Didn't want to put it on ''issues and solutions'' because everybody just complain in that thread.)

I'm Having the same issue as you.
From what is can tell it seems like the files are not loaded properly eg. missing textures or sound and then when the game tries to access them it crashes

My Specs

AMD Phenom 2 x3 720 be
4gb ddr2 ram
Xfx 5770 xxx
Xp Sp3
Running between 24-50 Fps maxed out

Nice to know im not the only one having issues.

Edit.

Possible fix for steam versions

open Steam > right click Crysis 2 > Properties > Set Launch Options > add "-dx9" without quotations, this fixed all the crashing issues I was having.

Cannot confirm this works will try it now.

EDIT 2 the game now lasts two matches instead of only one

I had this problem on level 65. I went through everything I could think up. I realized I had just used the autoconfig utility found here http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=12953&p=169115&hilit=Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions#p169115. I checked the compatibility mode as I thought maybe running it as administrator might help and discovered it was set to run in Windows XP mode (not my doing). I set it back to normal (windows 7 x64) and I was able to continue playing normally. That was version 1.5. I just now checked 1.61 and it isn't set to run in compatibility mode. So if you used 1.5 make sure it wasn't set to run in compatibility mode. Hope that helps.
