Crysis Creepy Issue

Post » Mon Feb 09, 2009 10:30 pm

I've run into some issues when running Crysis under Windows 7 x64.
It just doesn't start a game (I mean the part where you play, not the menus)
If I try to play MP, it just hangs on the loading screen, and if I try to play the SP Campaign, it shows a black screen just after I "Press any key". I've tried to contact EA, but it is known that their support is crappy. I hope Crytek isn't the same :)

Info:
6GB RAM
i7 920 @ 2.67Ghz
285GTX
Patched Crysis to 1.21

Thanks!

Hiya,

I've got a GTX285 myself and Windows 7 x64 Professional and i can play Crysis no problems so there's hope for you yet!

Few bits of information needed:
1) Have you reinstalled the game from scratch?
2) Which drivers are you using?
3) Are you using DVD or Steam/EA version?
4) Did you try the game before patching?
5) Are you using any custom configs/files (be certain, check your folders, my documents included)?

I just installed Crysis (Maximum Edition - Retail), tried it without the patches, and I'm using the latest nVidia drivers. Veeeeeeery strange. Also, I've tried to play Crysis Wars, it gives me an error saying that it can't validate the CD-Key. Am I not supposed to use the normal Crysis CD-Key or is it Warhead's?

You use the Crysis Warhead CD-Key to activate the Crysis Wars add-on.

You talk about Crysis 1 right ?
I know when I had Win7_64(now vista64 to the glory) combined with Crysis 1 Mech Warrior mod, I had to have "My Documents" set to FAT32 drive. But above you can see that it might not needed.

Be sure you have the updates of your drivers like your chipset and videocard plus DX9 updates. Good Luck.

And don't forget about system updates for Win 7(Unless your a vista, all you need is SP 2)
