If that doesn't look amazing then I don't know what else could. The graphics of Crysis 2 look much more harmonious, which is a big plus for me.

Updated #1 post.

@TheEoC:
So you say Crysis 2 looks amazing?
I mean, it doesn't look bad.. it looks good.
But not as awesome as Crysis 1 was!
I do really hope the graphics are much more awesome (we'll see ;)

I think it strongly depends on personal preferences. But I'm also looking forward to additional Dx11 Effects.

IMO Crysis 2 looks as good as Warhead.
Just visited some forums, about 50% pc gamers say Crysis 1 looks better, others says both Crysis 1 &2 look amazing.

Crysis 1 had some nice big vistas...

...but Crysis 2 is better in every single other way. Everything is more realistic, more realized, and the interface is fine save for the graphics options.

its not that crysis2 dont look good still the best around, i think most of us just expected better after so many years

but on the bright side at least you can play the game even with several year old video cards, and its not like there is an other game that has better grafix, so what ever - its fine

but i hope the developers wont make it a habit, this is only acceptable because the competition is doing so much worse

Crysis 1 > Crysis 2

At least for singleplayer graphics. Its all about range

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WJG14uLA3k

Thats not the best comparison, since
a.) it compares consoles and PC
b.) The original level was specifically recreated only to showcase some stuff on the consoles, so it's obvious that there are some things looking worse (like no trees in the distance), while the one of cryengione 2 was made for an enjoyable play experience.

To get back on the screenshot comparison:

What I noticed right away, when looking on the right side you see 3 main colours, red, brown an green more bright or more dark. On the left side almost all important colours are present, making it look much coherent. Some may be more concerned about the resolution of textures and such, but to me that actually plays an important role.

I find it funny.
When Crysis came out everyone cries:"I cant run Crysis!!!!" and now any 5 year old PC can run Crysis 2 and it looks great, they cry:"It look worse than Crysis 1!!!!"

You guys expect too much from Crysis 2, althogh it looks amazing but just because it doesnt look miles better than the original, you complain and cry.

Here is a comparison of water, textures, and more between the 2.

They look different because Crysis 1 weater is clean and Crysis 2 water is dirty. But both look fantastic.

Shadows are comapred too.

Very high was not compared because Very High in Crysis 2 can not be enabled in game as of now.

I think Crysis 2 on Low > Crysis on High

Crysis 1 has better lighting and textures mostly. someone should do a comparison of crysis 1 maxed out completely and crysis 2 maxed out completely, but we'll have to wait til release day for that

Lighting...idk. Crysis lighting looks more natural, but Crysis 2 lighting looks better (not sure how to describe it, I like its look).

But oh god no don't even start on textures in Crysis 1. They were unbelievably bad. For gods sake Call of Duty 4 had better textures than Crysis 1. You had to use mods to play that game without constantly cringing at low res textures all over the place.

On the textures I do agree, but not on the lighting. Crysis 2 lighting looks much better because it uses much more light sources. If you look into the sun in Crysis 2 it actually glares you a bit.

Did you not look like my video? Rocks and the ground in Crysis 1 looked like they are from N64. In Crysis 2 the texture resolution of the ground and rocks, etc is dozens of times higher.

I played Crysis 1, and although there are quite a few bad textures, most of them look amazing. Your video depicted mostly the bad ones.

The lighting was more natural which I liked, it made the environments look almost real. This lighting in crysis 2 is nice, but it has almost a more stylized and fake look. Some people may like that, I just prefer realism. I've rethought my position on the textures though, neither crysis 2 or crysis 1 have really advanced textures, they are about the same I think. Calling crysis 1's textures unbelievable bad is a bit over the line though, after all it is an incredibly beautiful game.

Is that Very High enabled through cfg mod? Because Very High is not a completed setting in the build in the beta. Tons of crap is missing.
