Crysis 1 or Crysis 2, what should I buy?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:49 am

I've played crysis warhead, and that was a wonderful experience - in terms of gameplay and graphics
I know im a bit late, but what should i get crysis 1 or crysis 2?
First off many ppl got problems with Crysis 2
and second, Im 100% sure i can play the original coz i played warhead at gamer with reasonable framerates :)

plz reply guyz
and im not in for visual beauty, I want gameplay, and just decent graphics, i dont mind playing Crysis 2 on gamer (lowest) settings, but i should have no problems
i planning on buying the normal versions of both, no maximum editions and no nano editions, and im not planning on using Steam..

So plz reply...

Well, I'd get both.

It means there will be more hours for you to play it, plus I believe there are some references from the first game (When you play Crysis 2, of course).

Yeah, but Warhead>Crysis. Psycho is a much more interesting character and the level design isnt a chock full with unecessarily long rig killind draw distances. Also warhead is less boring.

Crysis vanilla has Onslaught and Core. Those two alone make it better than Warhead. Also, Warhead's story has several inconsistencies with C1.

Both.
Crysis 1 for more open and great jungle warfare.
Crysis 2 for intensive urban combat.

Buy Crysis Maximum Edition. What is it, like $5 now? ;)
Make sure you buy Crysis 2 as well!

Play Crysis 1 first so you get an attachment to Prophet. You'll be very glad you did.
But if you happen to get bored of Crysis 1 (GASP!), move straight onto Crysis 2.

Warhead improved upon efficiency, so Crysis 1 might rip your pc a new asshole.

Btw i played Crysis 1 sp demo b4 warhead (to check whether my comp could handle it) and it did it on high settings at 1366 x 768 pretty smoothly (by smooth i dont mean 40fps or something like that but just around 25 sometimes even 30) although sometimes it used to drop for just 1 second down to 20fps :0
so anyway I checked online for other ppl's comparisons between c1 and warhead, there's a very slight difference, some ppl got less in warhead than in crysis... so its not really gonna rip my machine off :)

Anyway, just to ask - are the sys req really lesser than c1 in crysis 2?
and will i get any problems with multiplayer (many ppl have problems logging in, etc)

Crysis 1, and after that Crysis 2 ;)

you should make a topic pool, so you can see graphically what people advise you, instead of searching through posts...

I wouldn't personally waste my time on Crysis 2. You want a damn good experience? Play the original Crysis.

It depends on what you want. If you are looking for a great SP experience I would say get Crysis 2 as it is much better than 1. However, right now C2 has some minor, fixable bugs holding it back. Namely, enemy AI getting stuck running against walls and other obstacles and not reacting to getting damaged and seeing you. But when the AI works, it is good and makes for a fun experience.

My recommendation? Wait for news of a patch that fixes the AI scripting and pathfinding issues, then get Crysis 2.

No, it's just for people who want to play a campaign where they don't spend most of it bored out of their minds.

That is in absolutely no way worth the trouble of dealing with EADM.

Yeah, but C2 is twice as bad in terms of efficiency. Its a console port that was never made for PC.

All 3 crysis games are awesome. And normally when you consider whether to get the original or the sequel in a series, you usually have to factor in the original game's graphics and gameplay being shoddy or less refined than the sequel. Well that's not the case with Crysis 1. It's still almost as good looking as C2, and has very similar and (imo) equally enjoyable gameplay. C2 may seem a bit more polished, but I think C1 is still fun in its own way.

Also if it matters to you, C1 has a different kind of story than C2. C2 is all about being thrown into the midst of a huge disaster, while C1 is mostly about discovery and the shift from a "realistic" viewpoint to a sci-fi one when the aliens start waking up.

I can only say crysis 2 because if I tried crysis 1, my PC would probably not work anymore.
Crysis 2 is extremely fun, and I don't have any problems with it on my ps3, but i'm sure its alot different than PC.
