Crysis 2 Dedicated Server....

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 1:19 pm

Hi all,

I need some tips on what PC specs are needed including what would be the recommended processor speed and internet speed to run a good dedicated server from home. I'm very knew to all of this but was having trouble finding anybody online to play with. Had nothing to do with my NAT type since I was able to find MANY servers online but they aren't as populated as I would like at least in my region. Only really found about 3 servers that had low ping that were playable. Most I've seen that always have some action are 200 ping and up...way to laggy for me

Thanks in advance. :)

I'm trying to avoid having to pay for a subscription server...however they are usually not too expensive nowadays.

I thought the same thing and did research. Ea has not released the Crysis 2 server files and may not ever.

Anyhow to put togther a server at least a 2.0 ghz cpu and at least 4 gb of ram. It really doesn't have to be crazy to run games on, since it doesn't put to much load on it. You need aa cable line with a good upload bandwidth.

Ahh finally some good advice :)...okay I have 15/5 and the 5 is upload speed...would that be considered good?

I've done some googling and found a Crysis 2 Beta Server guide...wonder if I can get it to work with the full retail version I have...

The line bandwidth is good. If its a residential line don't host to many games cause you isp might see too much usage and cap you. Of your going to be hosting a lot of games get a business line.

I thought the same thing about the beta guide but haven't gotten around to it yet. If you try it and it works let me know and good luck. You can host Homefront games as the server files are on the steam player, if you want to host something to get some xp.

Good luck.
