Crysis 2 PC Demo Announced!

Post » Sun Mar 29, 2009 11:04 pm

Somehow I feel like Crytek isn't taking this PC demo thing so seriously...
Well not nearly as seriously as they took xbox360 demo anyway.

The Pc demo is roaring its way too us, they already released the System requirements. So that we can get ready, but where is the go signal?

As for the Pc demo, even if this comes after the release to attract additional gamers to buy. What of Sp demo possibilities?
We've been watching your Sp footage trailers, and they are amazing !

The Xbox 360 demo gets announced and the date is revealed at the same time. The PC demo announcement gets delayed and then on top of that the date hasn't been announced yet. I think they only announced the PC demo to shut up people who are complaining. This is just a pathetic attempt at stalling.

Ah, 2gb ram as minimum, that's kinda crazy. I mean I have 4gb so I'm good, but still sounds like a lot.

I have

GeForce GTX 460
4GB Ram
3.00GHz (AMD budget piece of **** cpu)

On benchmark with everything on high in Crysis I think I got 24 frames avarage, I can't exactly remember if that was it, but I think it was, could've been on the second run, but it was 20 something. I do not consider Crysis playable on my rig AT ALL, anything below 30 frames is just ****, the game stutters a lot for me and it just doesn't play well at all.

But Crysis 2 is a more closed game, it's not a big open world environment and devs have said it'll run better than the first game, so I have some hopes it'll run on my rig. It should atleast be able to handle the multiplayer stages considering they're pre-loaded small maps, I'd be disappointed if my rig can't handle that with more than 30 frames

That's one theoretically harsh possibility, but still.... never thought about it that way.

It would have been better to not announce a PC demo until it's ready for launch. Now instead of pure enthusiasm, we have a great deal of bitter enthusiasm. Soon to become apathy.

Agreed, now it's just annoying, would've been better if they saved it till they had a release date for the demo

Good job Crytek. You're starting to make your community bitter....again.

Remember Crysis and Wars? During the patching process the majority of the community was in agreement about what needed fixing and provided many detailed reports. But Crytek instead did the opposite of what the community wanted on many things relating to balance. And instead of fixing things, they gave us more useless crap. "We don't need to fix bugs, let's give them a grenade launcher instead."

When the majority of your fanbase is in agreement about something, listen to the damn community. They are your lifeline.

I do believe the PC demo will be released this month. I am pretty sure of it. Remember they have PS3 to deal with also after the PC demo expires. Two more platforms to go with an x-amount of time left.

There are 10 times more PC players than Xbox and PS3 players combined for this game. Releasing the demo will be a perfect replica of what their download server will have to entail at launch.

I am sure they are preparing for the largest server hit in their history as a developer, well that is, if the demo is not only released for those who did Pre-Ordering. Something tells me more than likely it will from the example of the Xbox demo.

Well, it's the first week after the 360 demo, so we might get some information, but I'm not holding my breath for this.
