If they feel the need to re-run the demo for xcrap it is fine. Most probably they fixed the big problems and now want to show it to the players. I think is all right.
You can't make a cross platform server because PC gamers will always dominate and the console players will drop the game by frustration. A few days ago I showed to my nephew (he has an PS3) how games (including Crysis) look on PC and how you play the game (specially movement), and was he the one that told me that in consoles you can't move that way.
6v6 is perfect on an small map but we, the PC gamers, will get bored after 2 days. I have played L4D(2) with 10v10 and it's more fun than the normal 4v4. With that I mean that Crysis need to bring more players for the game to be really fun. Up to 32 players (16v16) is fine, then a mod can be added to make room for more.
I think the problem comes from the net-code and extremely detailed maps and destructive environment which could lead to massive lag with more than 12 players. Just guessing.
Speak for yourself.
Player count has nothing to do with consoles. It was a deliberate design choice to promote tactical play, as opposed to just running and gunning. Adding more players into a match would eliminate the need for the nanosuit, because if you've got 16 players constantly running at you/your objective, there is no room for tactical play. You don't need the cloak, because you'll need that energy for when you'll be swarmed by enemies and want to use the armor. There is no need for the nano vision, because you will see the enemies anyway. No need for the tactical visor, 'cause you'll be wasting time.
Really, people need to just shut up and wait for the game to be released before complaining about the player count. This is not your average run'n'gun first person shooter, you can't treat this game with the same rules.
