Crysis 3 [OFFICIAL] - Demo Recorder + Spectator Cam (MP) #2

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:01 pm

Hi people.

So here I am with (maybe) the most interesting proposal for Crysis 3 (after the mainly asked punkbuster).

A lot of pople know that Demo Recorders are important when we talk about saving free space at our hard drives and leaving our game free of frames per second loss, either with competitive matches or non-competitive ones. So at the end, we can run our own gameplays and record them with a proper programme such as Fraps (f.e.).

In the other hand we ask for the Spectating Camera, it is pretty much usefull for obvious reasons. And of course, it needs to be at first person.

So my question is, simply, do you think that Crysis 3 deserves to have a Demo Recorder + Spectator Camera?

PS - Please Cry-Admins, stick this topic to the top so all people can check it at Crysis 3 Forums.

Cheers, Kr'Z<3.

Yes it does. Every really good shooter, that's meant to last, has a demo recorder.

Not only is it the perfect instrument to check a players legitimacy, it's also the ultimate way of making good montages.
I'd even be willing to wait another YEAR if that's what it took to have C3 have demo recorder.

List of necessities:

Demo recording (This thread)
Spectator mode (absolutely)
Spectator spying (look at the game through someone else's eyes!)

That last one is especially for cheaters. :|
And the first one would make it possible for multiple people to check it out.

Also it would make it independent from being at the right place at the right time.
Just launch the demo, and watch like a hawk!

Benchmarking ++, also.

Please keep this thread, the punkbuster thread, and the server admin tood thread at the top of the Crysis 3 Discussion forum. I don't care how many replies have to be the word "bump".

Popular threads will be popular based on the content & responses in the thread, no need to sticky or to bump :)

Do threads like this get viewed by devs?

The real question is, do this topic needs to be popular so Crysis 3 has Demo Recorder? ;)

You got my vote.

Sorry but what is Demo recorder?
Is like Counter Strike's spectator cam? Then yes of course. I wanted it the first day I played Crysis 2 multiplayer.

Absolutely. And like someone suggested earlier, eye-view spectating camera.

Yeah like I stressed many times in the Crysis 2 PC section of the forum.
Cry-Tek has to take a look and learn from the Counter Strike series. They have #1 multiplayer features.

Demo Recorder is different from Spectating Camera.

Demo Recorder is used to record gameplays and Spectating Camera is used to watch other players in-game.

Yeah, it adds a nice feature to the Game.

I speak for all of Ceph, so over 60 members that we all would like to have these functions in this game!!

I'm guessing we are talking about what I would call Battlerecorder (from the BF series). It would certainly help me with recording matches as turning on Fraps knocks me down to 20-30fps at the moment. Meaning I never run Fraps whilst playing. This would allow us to record our matches with Fraps after we had played them.

Theater mode. A tool that records the whole match and you can replay it and view it from every angle.

its like a replay in the game. so you can get better at playing instead of looking for walk a thru or cheats .but would be nice it you could use it as a bench mark tool as well for pc's

Counter Strike and Call of Duty are the well known examples of this important feature.

Yes i'm a terrible player so I don't record but I did get a triple kill streak of stealth assassinations and instantly went damn I really should have recorded that.
