crysis 2 difficulty

Post » Sat Dec 11, 2010 1:13 am

I was playing crysis warhead today in veteran difficulty.I always notice that there are only few more enemy troops and two helis instead of one in veteran mode compared to hardened mode. Its really easy to play in veteran if you play crysis always. So I was worried that if this will happen in crysis 2? As we all know know that as today's increasing gfx requirements and you need to fix game in 8gb dvd ,its hard to make game run longer. And you also have to make game playable to last level.Don't you think that there should be difficulty that will screw you??? or it should be such a way hard that you cant finish one mission without being dead 50 times??? Any one have any Idea if there would be such a difficulty mode???
Please crysis team make crysis 2 harder to play!!! :P

Why can you select both options in this poll? :)

If Crytek had fixed the cloak mode so that it is detectable in close range open environment situations, the hardest mode would have become so much harder... It is called Delta mode, by the way. ;)

Try playing the Crysis SP without cloak mode as your invincibility crutch and tell me how hard it is after that. :P

Veteran and Hardened are the difficulties on cod and nothing else.......... Very hard and hard is usually what people say if there talking about another game but I don't really care man.

And the whole point of crysis is that you can play it as you want, hence people playing it on delta and using cloak all the time sneaking around people without trying anything fun at all and then saying it's easy; I have had fun playing it that way though.

I tried playing through the game in only speed (Delta), the few times i didn't use speed where when i spawned on a map (You spawn in armour) or when i had to use strength just to continue the game (Jumps that have to be done...)

It was challenging back when i did it, but that was a while ago :P

true.that's what I had to say.games are getting easier. And in cod if you choose veteran difficulty, you wont even stand a chance for second if anyone blow your cover.cod is **** game if you choose veteran, cuz u will get fired from any where I suppose(even from walls). After I played cod mw2 I played crysis warhead.so I got confused about delta and veteran.that's all.:D
By the way its hard to play in delta if you play it without speed mode. It's fine if you don't use cloak mode. But its way much harder without speed mode.
my opinion try it.

I had to edit the difficulty settings for delta so that I had half HP and a quarter armor, couldn't move in claok (insta-drain), gave the AI a detection radius of almost a mile, bumped their accuracy up to a point where they could use the FY-71 to headshot me from 100m, and gave them a reaction time of 0.001 seconds.

I beat the entire game like this with a pistol.

YES I WANT HARDER LOL.

Just hope the AI is better at flanking and other tactics so it wont be so easy to just walk past them and shoot them all in the back.

Games with regenerating health are pretty much all not difficult. You simply hide behind some cover and you're fully healed. That's why I like Far Cry's health system more. I'm glad that Crysis at least made some cover only temporary (like trees, barrels, shacks, and such) and there was some balancing with health and suit energy, but I think the game would benefit with a non-regenerating health system like Far Cry. Perhaps there could be a difficulty mode in Crysis 2 that uses med-kits and non-regenerating health?

I kinda prefer regen.

The problem is to make the AI chase you in a working way, so you don't get to regen so easily

The game should have multiple difficulties, like the old one.

Difficulty modes are a great way to have replay value. For example, Assassin's Creed 2 doesn't really have much replay value, because once you beat it, you can't try to beat it on harder settings.

With Halo 3, I can play it on Normal, then Heroic and then Legendary.

And with Crysis 1, there was even more replay value than most games as you can play it on 4 different difficulty levels, and in addition to that you can play as an action hero, who runs in and kills everything. Or, you can be a stealth assassin type guy, who crawls around invisible, and then turns on strength mode and punches people out or shoots them with a silenced pistol.

Crysis is a... What would you call it? Segmented linear FPS? Nonlinear linear FPS? Linear Openworld FPS? ...I don't know. But it's awesome, whatever it is.

That's actually not right, the only reason AC2 doesnt have replay value is because you can't go back to missions you've already done. But they fixed that in brotherhood and made it so that you can do it different ways, and have redo previous missions.
