Crysis 2 Direct X 11: Benchmarked

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:46 pm

For those who want to find out for sure!

At 1080p, only the Radeon HD 6970s in CrossFire and GeForce GTX 580s in SLI deliver completely fluid frame rates.

Hmmm... well, on average that may be true, but I've seen benchmarks elsewhere (Guru3D.com) that show some scoring slightly higher than the scores there. I believe in some cases it is system dependant. I've got two systems that run Crysis 2 Dx11 w/ Hi-Res packs installed and on @ 1600 x 1200 and score higher than some of the scores @ both review sites. One of my systems have a single (unlocked) GTX 465 and the other has a dual gpu GTX 460 (slightly faster than a single GTX 580). I have no FPS issues @ all. Now, I've got 6 core processors in both systems, Intel SSD drives in both systems, and 8gb of ddr3 in one and 12gb ddr3 in the other. So, overall I'm probably above average compared to most.

Btw.. does the "Crysis 2 DirectX 11 Benchmark" utility work now, or did they use that nVidia tool to benchmark it?

I had two 460s before my 580, are you saying you run it butter smooth everything on ultra with two 460s?

Same here. I have Win7 x64, 2x Asus Matrix 5870 P's, 16GB DDR3 1600MHz and Phenom II x6 @ 3.8GHz. I can run the game perfectly on my 30" IPS monitor @ 2560x1600. However, when I run the game in eyefinity on three monitors, I tend to notice a drop in performance.

They did their own play-through

Edit: Hmm, it seems Crysis 2 uses a lot of CPU power

Two benchmarks by well known sites I've seen now, it's just proving all those who claim a 50 frame average on lesser hardware on full ultra dx11 are talking through their arse.

Yeah.. looking at the sky ;)

I can play in my native resolution 1366x768, in ultra not get 30 frames can not expect more than a core 2 duo.
