Crysis 2 DirectX 11 w/ 1080p monitor problem

Post » Tue Oct 04, 2011 1:31 pm

So for SOME REASON with directx 11 enabled I get this fkn annoying black letterbox type thing around my screen while I play Crysis 2. I can't get the picture to fill the screen and it's really annoying me. I'm using an AMD gfx card.

I've tried enabling GPU scaling in catalyst control center, and that didn't seem to help. Every other game is fine except Crysis 2 and Crysis 1. Crysis 1 will work and be full screen in any resolution that isn't 16:9 for example if I play in 1680x1050 (which my monitor supports) it's fine but at 1080p I get the letterbox. But Crysis 2 will have this issue regardless of what resolution I play at if I have directx 11 on.

Does anyone know a solution? Is it my graphics card? Is it my monitor? Or is it the game?

What's your monitor's native res?

I used to get a huge black flickering sphere on DX9 with my GTX295...
I got around that by changing some graphic settings in crysis. In shaders i think.. try it..

If this is the same thing I have read here before, someone set the screen res manually to 1920x1079 and fixed it, but he was using an HDMI cable.
