Crysis 2 DRM discussion (move to feedback)

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:26 am

Internet connection also required for a one-time authorization when the game installed/first run.
While the majority of my gameplay would be online, i won't be purchasing crysis 2 while there is a need for online authorisation. (entering a cd key to play online/multiplayer is another matter entirely)

I enjoyed crysis 1 thoroughly, boycotted crysis warhead , and am disappointed to need to boycott crysis 2 (which looks like a great game) because of the drm in use.

Edit: accidently posted in the wrong sub forum. please move this to the feedback section.

I also don't like this sort of DRM.

I did boycott some games because of this DRM but I will not boycott Crysis 2 for this specific reason.

I really don't understand why this sort of DRM is being used anyway. It's very weak. Will not protect. If you remove the game a few times without returning the activation you can't install it anymore and if the servers are down you also can't install your game. It only bugs the buyers.

If they really want DRM I would still like the No-Disk protection. It is also annoying but still not as annoying as all the other DRM's.

Indeed key-check on MP-server is no problem. But it should also be possible to connect to a private IP. (so if the official servers go down (or in LAN) you can still play it)

This was posted in the correct forum. It doesn't belong in Feedback & Support.

Dunno, they might as well boycott it because of the damn CD-key.
