Crysis 2 DX11 E3 Demo

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 10:39 am

First of all, I am noob to the forums so apologies in advance.

And I know everybody is sick in tired of people asking about whats going on with Dx11 support but.......

Remember this from E3? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvtn-01R-6M&feature=related

Yeah baby, thats supposedly what cryengine 3 can do. Of course that is probably pre-rendered as it is a demo, but hey, the tech appears to be real!

THIS is the game I was expecting, including sandbox, destructable environments, Super res textures!!!! This is why I PAID $60.00 for this game!

Either its simply taking crytek and extemely long time to optimize the dx11 code, or they don't want to release it fearing it will make the console/DX PC version look so much like a$!

So I crytek,, antything to add on this? I am enjoying the sp and mp (now that its fixed), but all want now is the above Crysis 2 DX11 experience you advertised would be included with the game.

It's the game that you can currently play... just a SMOKE and FOG effects appear to be a BIT better... Crysis 2 has wonderful graphics - get over it.

The differences are subtle but yeah - this is what PC Crysis 2 should have been!

Oh crap the stealth effect looks so much better in this video as it is now.

I think it's not Dx 11 BUT there is more destruction in this video and the graphics overall are SLIGHTLY better, not much.

Look at the Sniper rifle. There is so much more lighting effects on the weapon as in the game now.

yeah , if you really pay attention you can notice the smoke coming from weapons, tiles break off of pillars, the gleam of the suit when he's changing weapons , the textures. Even the lighting and post processing effects are amazing. Totally photo-realistic

I do want to apologize to everyone for coming off hostile, as I didn't mean too. Guess I got carried away after seeing this video again. I also should not have stated this thread as a fact but as a question, as opions of couse do vary.

Sorry If I wasted anyone's time on this...

One last thing want to point out - Look at the tesselation of all the objects in the that video. They look like solid objects with well defined bumps, edges, ridges perfectly for each object viewed.

end rant...

I want the game patched to this now pls.

the cloak is 10000000 times better effect, the textures are indeed better, possible usage of tesselation, post processing and destructable pillars etc look amazing very close to real. What in the **** happened here?

Visually it looks almost exactly like Crysis 2 (minus the cloak effect). Then again youtube videos aren't exactly great quality so it can be hard to judge unless there are extreme differences. Would have been nice to have increased environment destruction though.

Seriously, if some people can't buy a proper graphic card, maybe they should buy themselves new eyes! You can easily see much more and different graphical effects and very smooth moves on that video, that you don't have right now even with extrem settings. So, is it running under DX11? hard to tell, and I wouldn't dare to make a pronostic. But this version is clearly improved.
So... to those who pretend they have better on their system, just remember this thread isn't a dike size comparison, and just change your glasses ;)
(I have a nice system and play with extrem settings too, but I can't deny the difference, just be honest)

Well considering that is CONSOLE FOOTAGE, I will say that DX11 is NOT being used.

Google it, they showed console footage at E3.

p.s. don't start the 'deerrrr why did they change it!'

Every game changes after early E3 demos, look at Half Life 2..............

Limitations of the Xbox man.

If they wanted to they could have used CryEngine 3 to make a PC game that puts anything to shame. But they'd have to do it as a stand-alone project. It was much easier to use the engine's capability to develop all 3 at the same time while keeping the limits of the lowest spec platform in mind.

They'd need to develop the game twice, basically, and that costs $$$. Someone in a suit at EA has decided that the probable sales they would get from the PC version don't add up to enough $$$ to make it worth it to them to do that.

Much better profits to be had from the console market anyhow.

because the graphics are toned right down for Xbox, you wouldnt of been able to even play CoD 4 on top setting with specular lighting and max AA with that card best would of been about 30-40fps with a single 1 ( i had 1) and had to of turned down the GFX to get a solid 60fps
