Good move. But it comes seriously late, by then the game will be deserted even more than it already is and when the community can finally get the fixes ands mods rolling out, there will be only a couple of thousands left.

And with BF3 looming in the horizon, that's the end of it for Crysis 2.

Was quite surprised they are even releasing the livecreate feature, thought that would only be limited to studios with a license.

Sounds great anyway, updates, free, official documentation, updated crymod, the standalone AND modding tools which so many people doubted. Hopefully no one will need to complain that we are not getting enough information now and are being neglected, as this pretty much proves we are not.
It may be some time after C2's release, but seriously, the tools are being released in a few months, there will be a massive of amount of new maps, and likely a huge amount of new mods. Can already imagine people are going to be porting Crysis over, if its allowed.

Not only Critek's followed through in satisfying all the enormous expectations this community had regarding mod tools, but they've also proved us that they'll still value and respect the PC market. So, with that in mind, I would like to humbly offer my sincerest apologies to them, for all the naysaying I've done for ever doubting their commitment to us, PC gamers.

It'll soon be time for Crysis 2 to take it's rightful spot ahead of Crysis. Great news for sure!

There'll be a BOOM on C2 activity when players will be able to make and distribute their own maps, textures and so on..!

You cannot be serious...you must be a saint to be able to forgive Crytek for this epic failure.

To this day, over a month after the game released, people are still having server disconnect issues. People are still having invalid cd key problems. Cheaters for the most part, are still rampant. Dont let anybody tell you otherwise, since there are no admins in most servers. The game is still overall incomplete. The game's current condition is what I would like to call BETA phase. It still needs much more improvement...expect a full game release sometime this summer.

....oh and 'commitment to us PC gamers'?? LMFAO. 4 words: Press.Start.To.Continue.

CryEngine 3 SDK, IS NOT like the sandbox2 sdk we had with CrysisWars.

Its a standalone CRYENGINE3 ( not crysis2) developpement kit ! its a free CRYENGINE3 licence for indie modder to create free game with the CRYENGINE3.
Like the UDK with the Unreal Engine.

Its will not be a Crysis2 developpement kit. So unless they change their plan DO NOT expect modd / map for Crysis2 with this CE3 SDk.

This will be a complete version of our engine, including C++ code access, our content exporters (including our LiveCreate real-time pipeline)

Does that mean that when we do a map on the SB3 it will automaticly get a console version? And consoles will also get free maps/mods created from modders?

Do you read carefully?

In August 2011 we will be launching a free CryENGINE SDK. If you want to use it for fun, like all our previous MOD SDKs it will be completely free of charge, to anyone who wants to play with it!
And if it's not compatiable for C2 we still have the SB3.
First of all, we will be launching an Editor for Crysis 2 early in summer. This will allow you to build new maps, items and more custom content for Crysis 2.

Our next release will be the Crysis 2 Editor, this is for those of you who want to create content for Crysis 2. In August 2011,
This is really great news
