Crysis for 360

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 4:20 am

So i believe that both Crysis and Crysis Warhead should be avaliable for the 360. Sure I know that posting this would be a longshot but I bet there are people that would agree with me out there.

I dont see a reason why not. If they do great. They get my 60 bucks. if not they loose out of the 60 bucks. Any looses from PC will be more than covered by their profits from console.

Graphics on crysis 2 weren't that bad?... Facry 2 didn't had bad graphics and was sandbox... big sandbox. Although the story is less than questionable.... who am I kidding there was no story really. At leas tnot one worth noting lol.

Either way Not seeing the problem as to why crysis couldn't come on the console.

It was a benchmark on pc basically, main point was to get super graphics not story, more like intro or prologue but its not needed for crysis 2(makes zero sense i know). On 360 it would be a game with bad story and bad graphics.

This thread again? Its not going to happen. Consoles wouldnt be able to handle the massive draw distances. There are many parts in Crysis where you can see trees for miles in all directions.

Even on low settings at an extremely small resolution you would have a 20 meter draw distance.

You might think Crysis 2 looks phenomenal on your Xbawks but remember you guys are playing on the lowest settings at 720p resolution and still only cranking out 30FPS in a game with extremely short draw distances cleverly hidden with the terrain.

If I can run crysis with just a single 1.5GHz core and a GF 6800 then I guess the 360/PS3 will do just fine

Crytek themselves have said that Crysis isn't possible on consoles due to the low memory they have.

Cant be done.

You'd need to murder draw distances to insane degrees in most cases, and even then some levels couldnt physically be loaded into RAM as they use more than double what the PS3 / 360 can provide. Basically you'd get a crappy looking game that ran terribly.

There's a reason Crysis 1 was, and still is, an insanely hard game to run: there's so much stuff on screen at the same time.

If you have it on the PC, boot up any SP level. You'll see the memory usage at around 500-800mb even on the lowest settings - thats around 2x more than either console has. Then look at the poly count. You'll see thats around 500,000 - 2,000,000. I.e. at least 4x higher than any console game out there.

The simple fact is that (essentially) a $300 pc from 2005-2006 cannot and will not run Crysis, unless you do a total redesign of the original game - which crytek said they wont do.

Companies when faced with profits dont know the word "never" or "wont". Depends on the profits and only on them. Promises, statements or public opinion matters little or nothing at all if the profit is worth it.

Obviously things would have to be dulled down - but does anyone doubt a 2 disc package with Crysis and Warhead for the 360/PS3 would not sell well? Of course it would - Crysis 2 has done very well - Nomad and Psycho would both love to play PS3 and 360 ...

just upgrade your pc if ur so desperate
and why would a 2007 game cost 60$? u console gamers sure think that price is casual :P

It is A fact that consoles would not be able to run crysis as is , the gameplay may be changed due to short draw distances too
So much effort and time just to scale down the graphics

its like asking starcraft 2 to be on 360 :P

I am on neither side. Simply stating that just because a game can't run on a different platform at full captacity doesn't mean it wouldn't be profitable for the company to sell it there. And if it is indeed profitable lesser quality will overturn... "exclusivity". In the end the ones to loose are pc gamers as resources are diverted to adress both platform's issues. The company still gains either way. I am not in the company so I cannot say whether or not it would be a good idea to put crysis on a platform different than PC. Just because a game can't be run at full capacity hasn't stopped companies before.

Crysis cant run on a different platform at minimum capacity.

Consoles probably wouldnt even be able to handle the Core and ice sphere levels.

I could run Crysis on a 3GHZ single core, 1GB RAM and a 128mb GPU!

Impossible...unless they have major pop in and play on low? I think Crytek said the consoles didnt have enough memory to run it anyway

Some games work better on Pcs and some games work better on consoles...

Crysis 1 and Warhead are developed to take full advantage of the Pc hardware..(even hardware that wasnt released at the time the games came out)
So a consoleport would require so much re-development that it would not be profitable anymore... i suggest its more realistic that a remake like far Cry insticts could be possible on consoles.

you assume it would not be profitable. ANd unless your in the developer team its all assumptions. Depends on sales.
