Okay, with the problem that stopped me from progressing in the game, the issue of the nano catalyst locking at zero, it turns out that it isn't too large of an error after all; people who also have this problem or may encounter it should know this: if you're on a mission in campaign and choose to purchase something using the nano catalyst, it will use ALL of the required points REGARDLESS of whether you earned them after a checkpoint. So let's say I previously had 600 nano catalyst before a checkpoint, then acquired 400 afterwards, bought something for the whole 1000 and then exited the game. The upgrade stays, but the points don't, so instead of showing up as your current total (which in this case would be -400) it shows up as ZERO, and WILL NOT add more to your total until you've fulfulled receiving that 400 catalyst you've earned before you quit. Hope this also helps, and a static fix might be to have the game save immediately after an upgrade is purchased, if possible. Still waiting for dx11.
