Crysis 2 freezes up!

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:18 pm

I once put this subject but no one didn`t give me a smart answer.
My crysis 2 freezes in midle of game (MP) If i mess around in chenge equipment or any place in multiplayer section and multiplayer game it will freez up in random points (only crysis 2). Strange part is that in SP it freezes up ONLY if i mess with graphic long enough. It`s like running background sound goes, and i can move cursor arund but thats it. It happend Randomly-I didn`t had this problem at the biginning but then it started this mind Fuc*ing bug or what ever it is!
I need a little info-What specificly multiplayer is using (code, resorces, or what ever) just like graphic panel. Is there some kind simularity going, whene some of thous is activated-so i culd trace problem back to the orgins and fix it!
I have upgraded all drivers and more.
and once again For long time i didn`t had this problem!

Mine Does to . Here is how I fixed it. UNDERCLOCK ! your Graphics card. You don't say what Card you have . I have an ATI 5770 and I knew when I put it in I needed a bigger Power Supply but I haven't got around to putting it in Yet.

So when I'm running either Crysis or Crysis 2 it pushes my Graphics card harder hence draws more juice and Freezes the Graphics card cause it's starved for juice. So I underclock it using a free program Called MSI Afterburner. Drop the GPU and Mem clocks down a 50 or 100 on each and see what happens. In my case it fixes the lock ups every time.

Hope this helps.......

I have a 5770 Too.
Please dont listen to this guy .. WHY UNDERCLOCK?
Underclock will give you LESS performence, do u rlly want that? just turn your fan speed up to 75 like mine ;) ever since i did it i havent experienced a single freeze!

and also, it starves ur gpu of juice? WHY DO U THINK? ur fan speed isnt enough so your gpu is not getting enough cool air to perform well with max load.

Jared you need to chill bro. Either of these methods can work depending on the circumstances. Let the Poster of the question decide. 1st off running your Fan at 75% full time is noisy and will lead to GPU Fan failure sooner. Believe me that is not fun and the chance of you finding an exact replacement Fan is slim to none. I've had this exact situation. That's why ATI makes it's fan variable speed in the 1st place.

Secondly you cranked the Fan Speed up to keep the GPU cool which means it is HOT !! Losing a couple of Frames Per Second is not the end of the world especially if it puts less stress on your video card ? I don't Red Line my car engine or my video card GPU. But that's just me.

Thirdly in a case like mine where my power supply is borderline underpowered I have no choice but to underclock. I can cool all I want but when the upper current limit of my power supply is reached it's game over.

Eh.
Please tell me, why udnerclock?
If your gonna do that you might as well of saved your money and buy a different card.
How will increasing fan speed affect the cards lasting life? its been given all the power by your psu.
and a fan isnt too hard to find, why exactly the same one anyway?
