Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:55 am

Hey guys I'm thinking about getting a new gaming keyboard and mouse seeing as I upgraded the rest of my setup for Crysis 2, I really need to upgrade my mouse and Keyboard.

I thinking the Cyborg V5 Keyboard.
And the Sidewinder X5 Mouse.

Any suggestions, also places to look to buy for the best price? Can't really afford so much... Thanks guys!

Help is appreciated!

I'm using the Logitech G19 and the Razer Mamba. Quite possibly the most expensive peripheral setup ever, but it's amazing.

I'd recommend both if you can afford them.

And stay away from Cyborg, they're gimmicky.

I use a Logitech G19, with some custom mods on it and a Razer Deathadder 3500DPI. around $230 about on newegg.com right now for both :)

and yea cyborg is pretty low end stuff. my RAT7 broke along with a cyborg keyboard. they also feel cheap.

Gaming keyboards are useless unless youre playing games like WoW where you need to have 50000 commands bound (i dont play WoW, so i wouldnt know lol).

I have a $15 keyboard and its perfect for FPS'ers. The only thing you really need in a keyboard is to be comfortable with its layout so going from one key to another is easy as pie. But if you have the money to blow and you really want something flashy then by all means go for it.

I use the Logitech G9x mouse and this thing is a beauty. You can customize your grips, settings and even the weight of the mouse. I would definitely recommend it to other gamers

well see that is the thing, you mention comfort. which also implies on how the buttons feel when pushed and how tall the buttons stand. ALSO how fast the keyboard reacts. it may sound stupid but when i switched to from my 8 year old Microsoft keyboard to my G19 i noticed a HUGE jump in my performance in FPS games especially. Now they have mechanical keyboards which are even faster (i just do not like the feel of them).

Off topic. my friend who only has one arm plays FPS games with the RAZER Naga. he does not use a keyboard at all, all the buttons he needs are on the mouse.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll take a look at some of the suggestions, Razer Deathadder sounds like a good choice for mouse, any suggestions where I can buy one?

Also the Logitech G19 keyboard looks **** sweet but it is way out of my budget. Haha. G110 is more reasonably priced... Can you changed the wasd and other keys to different colours from the rest? Lol.

More suggestions are welcome, also I need stores I can buy these from in the UK. Thanks. Also bumped for people online at a more reasonable time....

Logitech G15 keyboard + logitech g9x mouse. Can't be beat.

Paying for the g19 keyboard doesn't really make sense, you are getting the same thing just paying more.

Who needs keyboards with all that **** buttons you will never ever use?

Standard Keyboard FTW!It does it#s job and costs like 10 euro or something? Please don't tell me you play better cause your keyboard is so so 1337. ;D

For a mouse i would go for Logitech Mx 518 if you wan't THE BEST gaming mouse ever. :)

Get a nice mouse, keyboard is irrelevant pretty much in FPS.
I'm using a Logitech G9 but I like the weird shape, a lot of people don't.

I would pick a Logitech mouse over any other since the software is better, apart from that every mouse is going to be pretty much identical in terms of performance.
Don't be bothered by the DPS since that is made pretty much irrelevant my sensitivity settings and all gaming mice have way too much now.

i have logitech g500 which supports 5200 dpi and i play that 3200 dpi with a very respectable k/d or .6
Razer artacosa is my keyboard of choice because of low profile keys which help me to change nanovision and weapons quickly

G500 Logitech mouse
Here it is cheaper, don't know how good the retailer is though

Just keep your keyboard dude, there's no point in upgrading it for and FPS game. Honestly.
If you do want something actually good look into mechanical keyboards but they are pricy.

Can't help you there, most places I have seen in the UK just svck for wide choice. And everything is sealed anyway so you can't try it.

If you order online you have that 7 day return thing that's your legal right in the UK, so why not just get what you want and try it like that?

Logitech's mouse is pretty good too. I use it for Cry2. Don't know the name, but you can google, it's their latest model with 12 buttons.

I've had a bunch. I currently have the mionix 5000 but 7 buttons isn't enough for this game. LOL Even my G500 isn't enough for my taste. Hate using the keyboard for anything other than movement. G700 costs a little less than my Mionix and has 13 buttons. The MX518 is supposed to be real comfortable. Here's a UK store with the gaming mice I searched for ya!
