CRYSIS 2 gets the ESRB treatment

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 11:44 pm

It should be no surprise to anyone that CRYSIS 2 received an "M" rating for the following reasons: Blood, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Violence.

ESRB is a **** organization and it should be shut down as soon as possible, for I cannot stand bureaucrats getting paid for pulling crap out of their arses and getting paid for it. Such ratings aren't properly thought out. It's just some board saying "hey, this might be a good rating." Nobody gives a **** whether or not the rating is actually based on facts or not. It's just all about paying some morons money to give ratings that nobody gives a **** about in the first place.

Rest my case.

Pegi Ratings are superior than ESRB

ESRB Clasifies games like Half life 2 which have like no swearing, minimal blood, no gore with games like manhunt and Splatterhouse

Hey, if it keeps a lot of 10 year olds out, its good for me. One of the big reasons I like PC's. Mostly advlts on.

But the ratings are mostly for legal reasons, so parents who don't watch their kids don't sue the company when some 10 year old goes out kills a bunch of people with daddy's shotgun. The company can say, "Hey, we rated it. It was up to you and the store to stop them from buying it after that".

lawl.

but hey, at least ESRB is better than CERO (Japans rating system) which classifies all sixual content as fine, and puts all violence (except violent porm!) as an immediate 18+

Because everyone knows six is worse than violence.

Does taking off your nanosuit is the same as taking off all your clothes ?

Alcatraz must be showing off his Chuck Norris abs and that is far too sixual for anyone under 18.

ESRB is such a joke. Walk into any gamestore and you will find over 50% of the games as rated 18+... Only the games completely designed for children from the ground up don't get mature ratings, like freaking Wii games/motion control.

Makes me wonder if the ESRB even plays these games before they rate them, because I honestly do not understand how games like Grand Theft Auto can get the same rating as Crysis... Pimping hokers and shooting aliens are two different dimensions of violence, people! :D

So it got an M... just like the first Crysis.
Is there a problem? Was this really unexpected?

The problem is partial nudity being part of the reason for the rating. ;)

I don't see much wrong with a booby here and there, it is a natural part of human beings and is nothing to be ashamed of. I hate how society paints a bad picture on exposing our body parts... It's not like some people don't have them and everyone sure as hell has seen it.

I'm okay with it. I'm 23, I don't hold a grudge against the ESRB and kids always get the games because of their crummy parents anyways. Virtual babysitters will always prevail if thats whats keeping mommy and daddy together for 'alone time'. Makes me sick when I used to work at Best Buy.
