Crysis 3 - Is It Going To Be Another Crysis 2?? (Unresolved)

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 5:00 pm

Let me first say that I loved Crysis 2, well I loved it when it actually worked.

The main problem for me was the terrible netcode and LAG issues on the Multiplayer side of Crysis 2. These issues were never fully resolved on the Xbox.

When you pair that with DLC being released and then support withdrawn by Crytek for Crysis 2 it makes me wonder if this is going to be a vicious circle and same old same old.

Alarmingly I've come onto the forum to see if Crytek have learnt their lessons from the mess that was Crysis 2 and actually learnt to COMMUNICATE and give their paying customers FEEDBACK on their concerns.

I list below some very valid points that have been brought forward to Cryteks attention, and no feedback from Crytek.

It seems like Crysis 2 is rearing it's ugly head here,

Crytek over to you.

Below is a link for 103 PAGES of problems that Crysis 2 had and the majority were never fixed.

this is actually an interesting post. Good arguments. I commend you. Although I have seen Devs post replies in some of the threads, not all you listed but if you search long enough you should see some responses which is better then with Crysis 2. So they have learned...a lil I suppose. If you read the Q&A with Dev post you will see tons of replies to lingering questions. Although one of the most important in online gaming is lag/migration. i believe Crytek is set in stone to the way they wish to do this and its probably not optimal at this point so I don't know how or if they will adress this.

Hi Dawued,

Thanks for the reply, I really really enjoyed Crysis 2 when it worked well (not very often) and this is why I am hesitant to fall for the same trick twice with Crytek.

I am not alone in being cautious after being burnt by the last installment. The Lag / Hit Detection was horrendous.

I would like Crytek to change their ways and actually interact with their (potential) customers a lot more like the main companies do.

If they do that, they would be more likely to gain customers like myself who are understandably reserved after the shenanigans from Crysis 2.

Other than the Lag / Hit Detection problems I am worried that Crytek will pull all support for Crysis 3 like they did after the DLC for Crysis 2 was released. This is not acceptable.

Crytek is doing WAY better support this time around. I haven't had half the lag upon this release as when Cry 2 had. They have really improved.

It's early days yet.

Now all we need is a bit more feedback from the Crytek Devs.

When I look at all the pages on gamesas Community there are barely a handful of replies from actual Crytek Devs.

I realise they can't reply to each and every one but some of these valid points are being ignored.

It just doesn't seem like good business sence to put all that time an money into a game that as had some hard work put into it for them too just let it die,by not answering or giving it support and maintenance.

Time will tell I guess.Come on Crytek do not let this one crash an burn...

I'm interested to know how this compares to C2 technologically, on Xbox. I played C2 on Xbox360 but now I'm playing C3 on PC and I wonder if they made any progress in the graphics of the Xbox version etc? Just out of curiosity.
