Crysis 2 on hardcoe with FullHD / GPU temps

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:31 am

I think that this engine is a way too heavy :)
Only with this product my 2x MSI GTX560-Ti Twin-Frozr II reach almost 80 degrees!
With any other games is realy fine.

Anyone has the same?

Your cards are operating within specifications. No problems. Turn up the fanspeeds if it bothers you that much :)

Fans are crazy after 10 minutes of play anyway :)
I think they reach with no problem 80%

What other games do you play?

I have two GTX 580's and they both reach approx. 70 degrees in Metro 2033. With all options enabled. It's a heavy game, but I don't think as heavy as Crysis 2. Also, Twin Frozer btw. SLI setups tend to reach higher temperatures, though.

Nice. Luckily, Twin Frozer II cards work very good at high temperatures. In fact, it's quite normal to reach temperatures between 70-80 while gaming. Just make sure you crank up the fan speed.

Fermi's run hot...too hot for my taste, but as someone else stated you are well within the card spec. Try bringing the fan speed up before you start the game....it may help stop heat build up. I never like the card to control the fan speed because it's "reacting" to high temp. I have had good luck with manually setting the card fan to higher speed before I game.

It's like, is vsync turned off? I have been playing with vsync off and obviously, at time the card renders as many frames as it can. So if you get 100% GPU usage in ANY game or program, it's going to make your GPU run hot.

Well that's why your video card is getting hot.

is your monitor 60hz? If so, just use the sys_MaxFps=60 command.

I mainly use no vsync because it cuts down on input lag and sometimes vsync can make your fps drop. But I don't disable vsync so that I can get more than 60 fps, because the monitor can't display more than 60 anyway. Unless you have a 120hz monitor?

Idk how the 500 series runs, but I have a MSI gtx 460 hawk. I set my max fps to 125, and my temps do not go above 50C on modified extreme settings at 1920x1080. On a side note, I keep my gpu fan at 90% at all times.

That will kill the lifetime of your card, they're supposed to run at around 21% and only spin up when absolutely required...

I also have the 560ti and it averages 70-75c it is quite normal.
My Geforce 260 GTS ran in the 80-90c range on the Unreal 3 engine & Crysis 1 I've seen it hit 95c.
