I was very enthusiastic about this game, until I played the demo. It play's good and it's fun; but NOT Crysis. Therefore it's nice to play for a few hours, but on the long run not worth buying. Also all the other news about dx11, consolization, small levels, ect. doesn't make me happy.

I didn't cancel my preorder, but that's because I'm such a great fan of Crysis I just can't let this one go.

glad to see people are paying attention to SP as well since I am not a MP player but I find mysels unable to enjoy games like Battlefield, CoD and MoH because of their settings......

then again Crysis 2 will be 12 hours so I know crytek put a LOT of effort in the SP experience

The irony in all of this is that PC gamers bad talked Crytek for making Crysis 1 that could not run at maximum, and even high, settings for the time. Now Crytek did exactly the opposite with Crysis 2 - keeping the framerate above 30 on a decent gaming rig - and PC gamers are still upset and unsatisfied. Some PC gamers speak like Crytek owes them DX11 because it's expected.

To the people stating the cancellation of their pre-orders: it's your freaking loss! The fact that you would stop supporting a company that made probably one of the best games this year just because DX11 isn't going to be in the game at launch, but later with a patch (maybe a few days at most), is just inconsiderate and ungrateful. Crytek is one of the few companies out there that still really supports PC gaming and the most people like you can do is not buy their product because the devs aren't releasing a feature you want at release? No wonder Crytek is moving towards the consoles... because from Crytek's experience, a lot of PC gamers are just spoiled snobs who always complain about little features and never really appreciate their product.

I (just) canceled my nano-edition pre-order PARTIALLY because of this. ill be pre-ordering the LE from a local store for launch day pickup and $100 less...

Firstly, $175 for the nanoedition was insane, but when all I knew was that this was Crysis 2, it seemed ok. Now that i've seen the demo with its locked data, no console, etc. and heard about no on-launch DX11, no editor, etc. Im a bit worried. Im not sure what Crytek is doing, but im still relatively faithful that the game will turn out well... im just not $175 faithful (also im getting a new comp on the 20th and need moar cash).

Don't treat every PC gamer as one person. I was perfectly content with Crysis. I often saw morons thinking they could max the game with an 8600GT. They do not represent all PC gamers, though. Also, a lot of hate came from jealous console gamers who would say stupid crap like "Crysis is all graphics and no gameplay!!" without playing the game, but in their ignorant brains they think that you can't have both great gameplay and great graphics. I would not be surprised if the same console gamers are enjoying the dumbed down Crysis 2.

pc gamers mad because crysis 2 doesnt push high end hardware because crysis 2 has been focusing on the consoles/older computers. Besides, its easy to have good fps in cry2 when theres no destruction, no environment interactivity, lower view distances, etc. But this is 2011, the game should look much better than a modded cry 1.

lack of dx10/11 is just one of the things that contribute to lowering the graphical bar of crysis 2, which was promised to be much better than cry 1. maybe its better than cry 1 vanilla, but not modded cry1.

dont talk about pc gamers like you know anything about pc gamers.

Well crysis is a enthusiast game, people with maximum gaming rigs. i just got rid of my 5870 and got 6970 in crossfire just to find out that this is a console port. hehe Battlefield 3 will fill my needs, i have decided when the demo came out that this game is a port and i wont buy it. It doesnt deserve to be next to my collection of games and it doesnt deserve to be called Crysis. No really dx9!!! Well as i said before im just pirating the stupid thing, play a couple of hours this dx9 **** and delete from computer and back to real games. NOT BUYING THIS S H I T People dont let them do this!!! Give ur money to developers that actually put some dedication into making a PC game. They are stealing your money!!! Be smart DONT buy this game!!!!

I really feel sorry for PC elistist that think DX 11 defines a good game. We all know that Crysis 2 looks amazing, and it has a very good concept( idea of "action bubbles" that you can solve in wichever way you want). This should really matter more than Dx11.
I also think it is silly of people to expect "innovation" all the time, but cries whenever it is not exactly the same as the first one. I think a more focus, but many open areas is better for the game. It is just PC elitist that always think bigger is better.

i spent 2500€ on my rig, are u telling me its ok that they scaled the game down so xbox retards can play it!!! Naturally i want dx11 and everything else couse my rig can handle it. SO MAKE IT BIG AND NICE AND DX11 AND THEN SCALE IT DOWN FOR XBOX AND OTHERS WHO CANT PLAY AT HIGH END SETTINGS, BUT DONT MAKE THE GAME LIKE THIS SO I CANT PLAY IT ON THE GRAPHICS THIS GAME SHOULD SUPPORT AND MY PC CAN SUPPORT.

17 920 @ 4.2 GHZ
12gb DDR3 1600
2X AMD 6970 CROSSFIRE

VS

XBOX

= HAHAH ARE U KIDDING ME!! ITS 2011 AND DX11 IS OUT FOR A WHILE USE IT! IT ACTUALLY SPEEDS UP PERFORMANCE WHILE GIVING BEETER VISUAL QUALITY. THE GAME IS DX9 JUST BECOUSE OF CONSOLES.

yeah ... nice vid ;P

so now a link is available:

yes, it's an old vid and it's ok, nothing special for me ... one more military ****

I read an article about Battlefield 3 about 16 pages:

Battlefield 3 -> svcks

If C2 don't will satisfy our expectations, and in my opinion it will ... there is no other game that will hit that.

Only stupid people or freaks who have nothing better to do keep still upgrading their pc. There is no need to upgrade your pc since 3 years now. What you are doing today is squeezing out insignificant computing-power compared to the much higher cost of energy-consumption. The technology of something new and ground-breaking is simply not there yet. DX9-games can still do just fine.

My point exactly 3 years just about when xbox 360 a ps3 came out....consoles are **** up the development of gameing industry. Anyway i have been updating my pc since 1986 when i got my IBM PC-XT with a cga 4 color graphics adapter running ms-dos, 256 kb ram with a 20mb hdd. Dont talk to me about hardware power!!! Well sooner or later consoles will be updated and games will be better, my hardware will still beat future consoles so its not stupid, consider that i have a play station 12. And i work with this equipment so it pays itself off...

It should have been an engine that could code for all 3 platforms simultaniasly, that the game will have much better graphics on pc than on consoles utilizing all the power off all platforms...Now i see its all ****, its just a console port. Thats why im pissed off. If they just said that crysis 2 will be a game much less demanding becouse of platform compatability and wont follow the crysis 1 graphical revolution i would be fine. But why lie?

Where have you seen that ... I have other informations

If you mean, maps are smaller, yeah ok, your right ... but Crysis WARS had only two bigger maps at release

And modder did a very great job for C1 and C-WARS ... why do you think that wouldn't happen for C2?

why? Elitism....plain and simple.

If a game is not PC exclusive then it's sullied and will never live up to expectations or "what it could have been"

Quite honestly it does not matter, Crysis 2 will be awesome regardless of what the doomsayers spout

^people are pissed because there have been a lot of corners cut to make C2 fit on consoles. I won't touch the low-res textures (C1 rocks, anyone?), but map sizes certainly have been cut down. And don't say that you prefer them like this, it's not an argument. It doesn't change the fact that they *have* been made smaller.

Case in point, Onslaught. One of the largest maps in the game, and one of the most fun levels. You got a tank, and were told to nuke 20 kms of Koreans supported by RPG ambushes, gunships and armor divisions, while you yourself were backed by a dozen or so tanks. You can't blame people for being pissed that stuff like this isn't going to be in C2.

that I understand and agree with to a point.

just because Crysis 2 took a different route that does not mean that

1: the game will not rock
2: the developers would not have taken that route anyway in spite of the game being a pc exclusive (case in point DAO)

Also I'm playing the game for the narrative mostly so I guess I'm the wrong person to argue about this

Yeah, god forbid Crytek decides to focus their energies on making a better single player experience instead of a benchmarking tool.....
