Crysis 2 on PC (Important question to Crytek)

Post » Tue May 31, 2011 9:02 pm

Hi guys from Crytek.
I have one, important question.
Will Crysis 2 (PC Version) will be more much dynamic and loose than Console version?
These questions torment me and the whole society on ESL / outside .
Becouse when we are watching trailers, gameplays from console it looks like Battlefield bc2 or full copy of Call of Duty.
Does Crysis 2 keep the spirit of first part?
That freedom of movement ...

(Sorry for my English)

Far Cry 2 was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and published by Ubisoft. Crytek had no real involvement in the game, except for the first game in the series.

Also, Shin, I think he's talking about the pre-alpha tech test, some people said the Nanosuit 2 functions weren't available in it. I can see why though, since it's nothing more than a mere test, no real game they want to spoil just yet. :)

i didnt, i just pointed that jump and speed are the best on crysis, and the circle jump gota be the best characteristic in gameplay and in movement flow
but one thing is sure, they didnt removed, but they have 'noobed' them down when they changed the suit modes :\

Speed and strength looks really reduced and clunky compared to the first game. Now we have to hold the spacebar down extensively to jump, and sprinting at all costs energy.

It is such a clunky setup right now, and yes, I am blaming consoles because of it. -_-

Boo hoo hoo.
You're blaming consoles? Crytek could have made a single button open the radial suit menu, and we could have all of the old suit modes. But they want something different.
This way, we can merge suit modes.
Power + Cloak
Power + Armour
Tactics + Cloak
Tactics + Armour
Tactics only
Power only
Armour only
Cloak only

Trying fitting that on a radial menu. You sprint faster and for longer in Crysis 2 than in Crysis Wars. Plus you're left with some energy at the end so you can survive for over 3 seconds.

Ah ok :) I've been hearing a bit about how those functions are no longer available in Crysis 2 (as indicated by the post above yours) which is purely incorrect.

Removing those features would be basically removing the Nanosuit itself which is something Crytek wouldn't do. Man, you seen the brochures for the Nanosuit 2? :D

I still have no answer to my question. So dear Crytek, can you tell me whether it will be a dynamic game, or something like bad company 2?...

That was a bit obvious at this point.

@ FAZOR: We do know that the Nanosuit was a dynamic thing in the Crysis, so if it's going to be another Nanosuit in Crysis 2, then we all should know it's going to be dynamic anyways.

Simplified, but still dynamic, nonetheless. I mean, come to think of it, not many games I know give you to opportunity to change the gameplay by either jumping higher, or sprinting even faster, at the click of a few buttons. That is dynamic.

... Not unless it's modded of course. :)
