Crysis 2 Jerking Issue

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:53 am

Hey folks, i recently picked up Crysis 2 for a good price from the game store and thought i'd give it a try but i've been getting some issues that EA tech support does not seem to want to help me on ( Instead of listening to me they just throw basic fixes at me which do nothing to solve my issue) so i thought i'd come to the forums.

Here are my computer specs:

Intel duel core E6750@3.00ghz
GTX 260 OC
4gb Stock Ram
H50 CPU Water Cooler
500gb HDD
Soundblaster Card (Doubt that'll be the issue ^^)

I can play Crysis 2 on all 'Extreme' settings with a stedy fps for about 20-30 mins before my GPU is overheating and i get a jerky stutter which affects gameplay to the point that i have to quit and wait for my pc to cool down before i continue playing. It's a very annoying issue and i wanted to know if the forum could help me out at all or if anybody has had the same issue, looking forward to your feedback. -Deskym

If its a heat issue, have you recorded any temps from the gpu or cpu?

Possibly you need to increase the gpu fan speed or put more case fans on. Also have you tried alt-tabbing, if this improves the situation it could also be an issue with the resolution you are using and the amount of video card ram you have.

EDIT: which driver version are you using, some of the more recent drivers come with some added heat.

Nice thread title ROFL

wish I could help more but lots of people have been having these kind of issues across the board and help from Crytek (new patch) would be best :(

Close all programs expect Crysis 2. And don't run the game on "Extreme" if it causes troble lol Run it on "Very High"! Do you have the DX11 upgrade installed?

Well CPU temps are 45-50c on high load, GPU i'm not so sure but i never thought to increase GPU fan speed silly me, i'm not running the game in DX11 i'm running it in DX10 and i'm using Nvidia drivers 275.33.
