Crysis lagging with quad core

Hi,

I got a strange problem and hope you can help me.
My Crysis is lagging on my Quad Core AMD Phenom II X4 965 (4x3,4GHz stock speed, not overclocked)
If I manually assign just 2 cores to the crysis process everything's fine and I get 70fps.

Other details:
OS: Windows 7
GPU: PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 5870 PCS++
RAM: 4GB G.Skill 1333MHz

Thanks in advance.

PS:
Drivers & Patches are the latest installed.

The CryEngine 2 is designed to only really take advantage of two cores, while it does support four cores, the framerate boost to it is minimal.

If you are running fine setting two cores to it, then keep it that way. ;) It seems like a very odd issue to me and don't really have a solution.

If you boot up the game with four cores assigned to it, can you open the console and tell me if it detects all the cores? That may be an issue, or you may need to go into the Bios and change the voltage from auto to and keep raising it a couple notches (until stable) to see if any stability increase is noticed. I wouldn't bother going too high though if you don't notice any difference, since its the game fault then.
