Crysis 2 Low graphics?

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 2:13 pm

I unlike most people dont care much about graphics.. if a game has the smallest lag for me i dont play it.. thats why i havent touched crysis 2 since i bought (1st week it came out).. I dont know why it lags... my fps is ok (29~50) but the mouse keeps lagging.. (im sure most people know what i mean)
i really think there needs to be an option to turn down the graphics down even more..
(and if someone knows a "secret" they wanna tell me, feel free to do so.. or point me in the right direction.. lol)

please dont tell me to get better comp (or W/E) as i got 8gb RAM (+4gb ready boost) core i5 @2.81ghz
ATI premium HD Radeon graphics 5650 4GB... Pixel Shader version 5.0 Vertex Shader versio 5.0
that easily enough....

a Tweak or something? to make it lagg less? as crysis 1 has no lagg and this does... and yet this supposed to have lower requirements...

Are you running with DX11 on? Try turning vsync off if it's on as that causes mouse lag. Other than that all I can say is maybe a new graphics card?

Your graphics card is pretty weak to be honest. It barely meets the minimum spec for the game.

dx11 is off, and if i can play COD black ops in max graphics and on other screen be watching a HD movie.. im sure it should be fine...
and its not even that bad on single player- i get 40~80FPS in single player on normal graphics... and in multi... i just cant play by the time it moves and shoots im already dead..

COD BO is just an example.. i dont like COD at all, it was just the most recent game ive played...
but try running crysis 2 on mid graphics and recording it with playclaw on max graphic 80fps and i get no lagg...

Purely looking at the fillrate bandwidth of the card it is weak for 1.9 patch. If it's a laptop then it will be even weaker.

That's fine. I was just saying that CoD BO doesn't have the graphics like Crysis 2. The new 1.9 patch adds new features and needs a better GPU. What settings can you play Crysis 1 at?

I was still running patch 1.7 (something like that) havent had internet for a while.. and it was annoying me when i could play it as it was lagging, the 1.9 patch hasnt added lag or anything.. all i see is it added teh ability to download the DX11 tweak.. which i haven't downloaded/used..

is it a laptop?

Yes it is. I honeslty don't know what could be causing you mouse lag. It's hard to know what you mean by that aswell, like does the mouse just fluidly lag or is it jerky?

Either way I think getting a better card would help your situation. I've never been one for using a laptop to play games on. They are more expensive and often don't work right for demanding games.

u cant change graphic cards in about 99.99% of laptops...
and my mouse lag i mean i move it and... 0.3secs or so later it does... its not "smooth" i have a gamer grade Logitech mouse and its wired- so nothing wrong with the mouse...

imagine lagg when moving in some games.. u press "w" and it moves a sec or so later.. its like that but only with the mouse..

Yeah that's definately not vsync causing that then, and that's why I sorta dislike laptops >_>

Sorry I've got no clue.

my laptop is inferior to yours (lotsa stuttering(on some levels) on ultra) , but i have no lag playing crysis 2 with a xbox360 gamepad ...

try it.

:/ id get an xbox 360 and play crysis on it... but i hate the controls.. ive been using a mouse for FPS for years... i prefer it as having 10 buttons i can easily change how sensitive the mouse it, and easily switch weapns... (im not a fan of the controllers)
might buy one just to see if i still lagg... will give an answer if it worked later...

Most of the people on this forum are minors and really, really stupid. It's why I never go on here unless I have a problem, and even then I think twice about it.

Anyway, I have similar specs, and the game is the same way for me as well.

Core i5 2.66GHz (boost up to 2.93)
AMD Radeon HD 6550 1GB up to 2.746
4 GB DDR3 mem
640 GB HDD

I don't give a flying **** if some 15 year old has a 3x better rig in his room and says that THAT is why he runs this game fine. The bottom line is, I should have no lag on at least lowest settings, and I do. So screw this game until a proper patch comes out.
