Just installed Crysis 1 to see if everybody is lying about the graphics being better on that game..... yes it is.
(No Mods, No patches)

I just show my dad both intros and first levels and ask him which one does he think is the new one and which 1 is the 4 year old game, he never played a game in his life. this is what he said,

" Ja hierdie een moet die ou een wees, want jy kan sien hulle moes die graphics weg steek agter daai blur ding, die ander een is baie meer duidelik"

English: Yes, This one must be the old one, you can see they were trying to hide the graphics behind that blur thing, the other is much more clear."

yes he said Crysis 2 is the old one ( i dont say my dad is a Game Review specialist, its only that, that is the view from someone that doesnt know which one is the "new" game.

So why does a 4 year old game look better than a new 2011 game? Wiki Pedia answerd that for me:

Play it in MEdium settings. Crysis 2 in MEdium actually looks better than High, because it doesn't have the blur.

From the sound of things I think your dad simply did not like the badly done blur (like most people on here). Should have turned off the blur before showing him the two games. If he can spot texture differences, all the power to him.

And, who cares about comparing medium settings? Crysis 2 basically looks the same on all thee settings because it's console afterbirth, whereas Crysis the original has not only 2 more setting levels, but far more individual settings to tweak.
