I rteally dont think Ati is the problem here, my 2x6870 own vritually every game BUT Crysis 1 which dont scale well at all. So... the more you know.

Also cheers to 101 page

Can't hurt to give that new CAP a try tonight when I get home. Thanks Crytek for your update, now at least I know you are still working on this.

Interesting how this new CAP doesn't seem to be listed on the official ATI site: (stil CAP2 there)
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx

but listed on a 3rd party site: (CAP3 there)
http://www.rage3d.com/cap/

What's up with that? I assume rage3d and their CAP is legit etc..?

Just tested CAP3. Far as I can tell there is no difference between it and CAP1.

1) Flickering remains unless brightness is adjusted
2) really bad performance. <35 FPS in-doors

This is on Extreme, 2560x1440 with 2x5970s.

Getting a bit frustrated at AMD now. Why release something that claims to have "resolved" the issue when clearly insufficient testing was done?

p.s TY for the update Crytek :)

p.p.s Thank God Portal 2 comes out in less than a week.

wow!

This totally RUINED it for me :o

I installed the CAP3 pack & now I even get the flickering when I use radeonPro... Even after uninstalling CAP3...
Thanks a lot for definitively breaking the game that WAS playable with several workarounds. :(

11.3 CAP1 already fixed the flickering issue for me, what i want now is some improvement with crossfire, @ 1920 X 1200 on extreme i get 35/52 fps outdoor, 60/85 indoor with tri way sli HD 6970, @ 5760 X 1200 the game run at 17 fps :/
Actually the game just does not support crossfire, running one single GPU is just the same

cap1 4 steam version, and cap 3 I think 4 retail version of the game. 4 personally cap 1 don't work (because I have retail version) but cap 3 resolved any flickering and now finally I can play=) But I still wait dx11 patch + network connection=)

Hi guys,

We've spoken with the team who are investigating this issue and they're still working on it. There's no ETA for a fix just yet but we'll hopefully have more information on the issue next week. Again, apologies for the delay with fixing this issue as we realise it's affecting many users. Your patience is much appreciated!

Thanks!

For the record i get flickering with Vsync ON only. if i turn Vsync OFF in-game, the fast throbbing flicker changes to more like a slow scrolling of dark translucent bars.

Hope this helps.

What I have found with my setup is when running 1 GTX 470, no problems with flickering. When running with 2 in SLI, the flickering is terrible & constant. But when I run with 3 470's in SLI, everything in game runs good again. I have tested 2 way SLI in different express slots (8x, 16x, & a combination of both) with the same bad flickering results. Single & 3way both work equally as well, but not 2way for some reason. Strange?

Very strange and random this bug is :)

I have 3 Cards and get flicker, 2 cards flicker, unless I disable my PhysX card, then there's still some flicker, but much less.

Basically seems totally random.

For me it's the post-MSAA setting that causes flickering, with my SLI setup. Hence I used this command: r_PostMSAA = 0

SLI now fully functions, without any problems.

The latest CAP solves the flickering for me... But at cost of half my FPS. I keep using the renamed FEAR.exe.

The new cap is working for me as well.

11.4 preview drivers, 11.2 cap was already installed when I updated to cap 3.

Reboot my system, ran ccleaner, and i'm running the game silky smooth on extreme (FOV is 70, Sprint is 70, Draw Near is 60)

Asus DirectCU II 6970 Crossfire

(Turning v-Sync on brings the flicker back)

At least we know now that they've got a team on this issue, thanks Adam.

Not much longer will we need to be trying all these work-arounds.

There is no reason to have patience waiting for a fix of a game-breaking bug that should have been sorted before release.
Fun to read about all those easter eggs the team somehow found the time to implement....

Yeah, we've tried one helluva lot in the nvidia forums to get this working, but it seems like it will be up to Crytek now.

Godspeed, good sirs. Godspeed...
