strange......i am nearly finished Crysis 2 ( last chapter ) and while all whole game, i got flickering ONLY in second chapter ( SECOND CHANCE ).
Random artifacts ( bars, lines ) but very rare. IS this fault of my GPU or game? Changing drivers dont help.

I got only one Gtx 580.

I'm done with all of this. I just wish I could get my $60 back. But no, unlike most other products and services, I can't return a faulty product or get reimbursed for a bad service.

Lesson learned with video games. Read forums first. Especially those with over 100 pages on a single bug.

I almost fixed all flickers by disabling my physX card and using SLI compatibility bits changes in the drivers, but I am still left with these little flickers in windows and with nanovision.

It really just seems like the games got crap for support regarding Alternate Frame Rendering.
Application will hopefully be fixed soon...But I'm going to need some hard disk space on my SSD's with all the good games coming out this year , C2 will be the first candidate for deletion it seems.

Getting 60 fps on 5970.,,after updating to 11.3 CCC and CAP ( rebooted after each install..CCC..reboot..CAP..reboot )
Too bad the graphics are botched..
I'm getting weird dark circles , patches of shadow and just plain graphical weirdness....and the flickering remains.

11.3

It was running perfect before the first patch...

Uninstalling...

If I go back to using Radeon Pro...the graphic distortions are fixed but FPS is halved.

I've got to find the older drivers that worked.

No other game seems affected..

strange... i dont know why only this game is artifacting on my card. I know that every game is using card in other way...

Games like: Metro 2033 ( on max dx 11 ) , 3dmark 11 ( on extreme ), Black Ops, Unigine HEaven 2, Dragon Age 2, Shift 2 runs perfectly.

So why only Crysis 2 is giving me sometimes artifacts on screen, like lines\bars?

Exactly....after reinstalling drivers and CAPS I checked out a few other games...Metro 2033 ( DX 11 ) Heaven 2.5, FEAR,LFD2...etc.I tested a lot of games actually after reinstalling drivers...all work fine but Crysis 2.

And I am getting those artifacting now plus I just lost my fps on top of it...getting half now...within 20 minutes.

Both GPUs are working...

When I reinstalled drivers..I checked Crysis 2...60 fps but artifacting...
After testing other games ( which run fine ) went back to Crysis 2..no real artifacting but now the flickering is back and my fps were halved.

It's like you need to re-install drivers every time you play and hope it works.

Bahhh

I think I will get a 580 GTX and sell my 5970 and forget about SLI/ X-Fire

I'm going to pull my hair out....I swear. Or maybe just uninstall the game and write it off.

I just installed the 10.4 Preview drivers and my FPS went back to 60 ( Extreme settings, 19x12, V-sync on ...which is where they should be ) but now the artifacting, ghosting, is back and worse then ever. It's not flickering...but still unplayable.

Even the green light on my gun leaves a trail when it's moved and the enemies look like I'm tripping or something weird shadowing, shadow trails.

I might try 10.2 again..but 3 driver re-installs is enough for one day.

Can you tell exactly what kind of artifacts you get? I got very very rare flickering strange lines\bars on screen , when i am in chapter "Second Chance". These lines are not in any object, just flicker without reason. Sometimes black, sometimes other colours they get. You got this too?

Yes..

But I also get a black circle that follows me around, when I zoom in the screen will flicker to black then back. Black circle on target when zoomed Turning a few inches will throw lighting off from dark to light...

I don't care anymore... I just uninstall ed the game...

The worse part is the demo ran fine and the full game ran fine until first patch...now I can't even get the vanilla version as I have Steam and it's already updated.
Regardless I have uninstalled the game...

What a waste of time and money..

I thought I didn't have this problem, but I notice some slight flickering coming from light sources, like lamps. It's doesn't make the game unplayable, though. But still...

Edit: Nanovision suffers from it as well...argh

Yeah, it's mostly playable now, but still some flickering like in the video I posted a few posts back.

At least I'll have portal 2 to entertain me soon while I wait for crytek.

Hi guys! good news! I have HD 6950 in crossfirex, I had the major flickering issue since it started. I tried everything but it did not work. Today, finally it fixed my issue. I went to buy a new displayport for $24 bucks. I was using dvi dual link before and had a lot of flickering. I am using the latest drivers 11.3 and the profile 11.3 cap3. I am using max setting with resolution 2560x1440. Try changing your display cables to something else or try getting a new one...might solve the issue but for me it did! =)

I had a problem like that with a DVI to HDMI cable that came with my monitor (2 HDMI and VGA only) and AMD's CCC. Whenever i hit apply the screen would flicker, so i got a pure HDMI cable and it was gone.

My flickering (full screen flickering, not just water or windows) went away with a format on an unrelated matter. Crossfire performance is improved too, unlike before. Before i had to disable Crossfire :(

This is a weird ass bug. Can't wait to hear what Crytek says about it once its corrected for everyone.
