Crysis 2 Multi GPU support causes insane flickering.

It blows my mind they didn't do Q&A on multi core GPUs

And here it comes!

I can definetly confirm, that using RadeonPro is a workaround for ppl using a single multi gpu card.

The trick is, when you are configurating the game profile, right beneath the "Force CrossFire Profile" option
is a slider, with lets you choose different additional options for CF. Just set this slider to "Disable Crossfire"
(It's the the the second option from the left).

This will (even if you have 2 multi gpu cards like me) fix your problem. **** your framerate tho, at least in comparison to full CF without RadeonPro.

Still runs smooth with my pc, I think somewhere between 30 and 50 fps...

But I DO agree, this is a huge disappointment. You should have waited 2 more months for your release.

even better, you can force the "bioshock" crossfire profile in Radeon Pro and get at least *some* gpu scaling. (50% more fps)

Wow, I have two EVGA Nvidia GTX 580's in SLI and whatever config I use (SLI on or off), my screen is perfect. I haven't had ANY flickering issues at all, V-Synch on OR off it doesn't matter. The game looks and plays beautifully.

I really feel sorry that some people's PC's are doing this to them.

Yeah, it's not normal to be able to play a game that you paid for on the day that you purchased it!

I thought I was omitted from this error as well, I was wrong. I found out that even if I enabled Crossfire that after I started the game it would disable it thus I had no flickering because I was only using 1 GPU. I would almost bet money that you are having the same problem. I had to use radeonpro and a bioshock profile to get it to work properly.

The sad thing is that the game was running better with 1 GPU.

The driver is for GTX590 only.

Nah, it says it "adds support for 590"
Reading the whole release note makes it pretty clear that their is fixes for many other issues present for other cards, Sli ans surround configurations aswell, at least thats how i understand it. I will try them anyway tonight. I cant breake something thats already broken right? :b

If you look under the tab "Supported products" or whatever it's called, it clearly says GTX 590 only. Still, you could try it.

You would need a modified INF file as it wouldnt recognize any supported cards installed other-wise.

Im having this problem aswell.
Im sitting on a ATI 5970
Playing "as usual" on 1680*1050 on Extreme settings I get constant 60fps although I get flickering with both GPU's on 60% load
changing the .exe file to "rift.exe" takes away the flickering but gives me 40-60fps with 95% load on both GPU's
.... kinda svcks

EDIT: changing the name to "bioshock.exe" has been the best result so far... kinda .... I mean, it takes away the flickering and keeps me at around 50-60fps and a load on 95% on GPU's... HOWEVER, If the standard-settings can get me 60fps with 60%load and(unfortunately) flickering then, what's stopping the rest to get a flicker-free @60fps with 60% load instead of it pushing to 95% load? I mean, whats the change?

I run with 6 core and crossfire/ati 2 vid cards. Same problem in fullscreen, however in windowmode there isn't an issue. V sync was checked and AI enabled. Tried other configurations seems a problem on there end, I'll just play in window mode till there is a fix.

My twin GTX 460s either flickered or werent doing proper SLI. I found an SLI profile update for the C2 demo here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia-multigpu-SLI-profile-update-v7-driver.html

applied it, and crysis2.exe and crysis2demo.exe both now show up with an "Nvidia Recommended (Custom)" SLI setting. My cards are now working perfectly, and my framerates went way up (90fps @1929x1080 advanced)

I'm having the same issue. Dual 6970's running the Steam version. Nothing in RadeonPro fixes this issue for me. Using the Bioshock profile makes the game ONLY RENDER THE SKYBOX which, needless to say, is worse than it flickering a lot.

Crytek, screw you. EA, screw you more. I'm not alone in being a fan of Crysis who bought Crysis 2 PC for $60 on faith that it wasn't a watered down console port it seemed to be. The PC issues so far, this one included, show that there was absolutely no appreciable PC QA. "Press Start to Begin" made it into the gold release of the game for Cryssakes!

Please fix this. Don't pretend you need to gather more data or look into the issue more. You don't.

Confirming, I use a 5970 so there's sadly no way of turning off Crossfire. Good job Crytek, releasing a totally unplayable product for thousands of people.

I've tried all fixes I've come across, and none have worked.

Didn't work for me either... Well, SLI worked but the game is unplayable with the annoying flickering.

Most SLI setup GPU's that are at 600Mhz and above could experience flickering , I recommend to try and lower it it 599 mhz just to see if the flickering goes away or at any point if your lower slightly the mhz of your cards , I think crytek/ati/nvidia should patch this , its not the first game that does flickering in SLI/CF.

I'm using CF 4870's at 750mhz. I'll try lowering it to 599mhz, but NO WAY am I permanently doing that just to play a game.

I haven't touched the game since I got it on Tuesday aside from testing various CFX fixes, none of which have worked at all to my satisfaction. I've had the game for nearly 3 days now, and I'm about 5 minutes into the campaign. I can't go any further. I am never buying another Crytek game ever again. Not for the PC, not for my 360, not for any future released console. I'm through with you Crytek.
