I wonder how many epileptics are foaming at the mouth flopping like a trout out of water on the floor after playing this.

I'd really love to give this game an honest shot at enjoying it...

Still no update from Crytek as to what they're going to do about this?

I'm waiting too. I know I'm being a bit unreasonable here, but I would like to play the game I paid for. I can't return it to the retail store, or I would have.

You'd think for liability reasons this would encourage Crytek to post a Warning or Mass Recall until this can be patched. I know for a fact that I suffered a migrane after 5 minutes of "Insane Flickering". My M17x-R2 arrived brand new with Xrossfire enabled.

Maybe that Epilepsy Warning in the manual protects them.......

What's even more disturbing is that Crytek and EA know that the Crysis series has ALWAYS held the crown as a Real Time Gaming Benchmark and that most PC Enthusiasts(with Multi-GPU) bought Crysis games just to see how their system would perform and yet with this "Insance Flickering" they have said nothing to the retailers, e-tailers and consumers and still continue to sell a defective product....I don't get it....If I was Crytek/EA I would pull the PC version off the shelf unitl at least an auto update/patch can resolve the issues at hand to save face.

Oh yeah!!...I also forgot to mention that back in 2007-2009 a multi-GPU setup was recommended to fully appreciate what is Crysis.
I'd like to be offered a exchange for a fully working game free of serious defects without having to update or install a patch.

Yep it's a load of crap it is.

Imagine if you bought a Microwave. You would reasonably be allowed to return the product if it didn't heat food properly.

Just because it's software why is it different? The product that the company built is defective.

You know what... I'm going to call EA and have a go at getting a refund.

I gather we have to make a custom profile for sli?

As it stands it only runs one card for me without touching any settings

I found a way to keep it from flickering. Just set it on windowed mode. Not pretty, but it's the best and easiest fix without having to fuss about with custom SLI profiles and whatnot.

Waiting for these unexpected and annoying errors to be fixed.

Sadly (strangely enough) since I run an Asus Ares, I've no way to disable CFX. I've been dealing with the flickering so far, but I'm getting to the point where it's getting to be too much. I hope the fix comes soon.

Possible fix for some for Single player.
What I did is I rename my Crysis2.exe file to something else so as not to lose it. Then I looked in my Retail copy of Crysis2 and browsed it's contents. I then copied the Crysis2.exe from the cd into the bin32 folder of Crysis2. I then launch Crysis2 from the file I moved over from the cd. This practically fixed the Bloom problem for me and I am still running CrossfireX on dual 5970 cards. More than likely mutliplayer won't work. For me this is a temporary fix till Crytek gets their head out of their @@@ and patches the game. At that time I will delete the file I transfered from the Cd and rename the Crysis2.exe 1.1 file back.

If you rename the standard exe to "rift.exe" it will work with sme Crossfire scaling.

I said this WAY back on Page 15.

Precisely, call this a somewhat noobish solution for those who don't know their way around video card profiles to save their lives.

Tried the 11.4 'preview' drivers, then the official 11.2 drivers with the CAP4. General performance has increased significantly, along with the flickering. :S

Unbelievable.

Absolutely preposterous Crytek. Like many others I bought this game just cuz it's CRYSIS, man.
How this issue escaped QA testing is amazing to say the least.

This game is basically unplayable for me until this issue is fixed. I'm not going to disable CrossfireX just for this one game.

Hi there, thanks for posting the vid in the OP, it's handy to have that kind of information.

We are aware of this issue and are working towards resolving it ASAP so that you can enjoy the huge SLI frame rates!

In the mean time, i believe it will work if you disable SLI/CF? Can you confirm this is the case?

Thanks!

are you aware of single 5970 flickering aswell without cf cause its an epileptics worst nightmare

I have a 3870x2 since its just one card in the ccc there is no option for enabling crossfire (i had two 3870 x2's but one died) and i have 11.2 drivers
since i cant disable crossfire is there another way to disable the flicker

how come there arnt any advanced graphics options, why cant i just turn off bloom effects or individually set up crysis like the first game

If a REAL fix doesn't show up by 9AM Central Time I am going to speak with the store manager at Bestbuy where I purchased this game and demand a refund because with the fix I use I can't play MP online.

Once all this mess has passed and gone I will re-purchase this game. It annoys me that I have to jump through unofficial hoops to try and utilize my Xrossfire configuration to play this game. Most of my friends have canceled their pre-orders and illegally downloaded this game because of all these problems. I on the other hand have been loyal to Crytek/EA, legally purchasing retail disc versions of Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis Wars and Crysis 2 on PC because of how good Crysis & Crysis Warhead was before the discounted Maximum Edition was released. I am really starting to become upset with the way Cytek is handling their PC fanbase/paying customers. I've had soooooo many chances to download this for free but I wanted to reward the developers on a job well done. I even have a CFW PS3. Crysis 2 was leaked over 2 weeks ago.....but still my heart goes out to PC not PS3. This matter IS more serious than You(Crytek/EA) realize.

Let me school here a little.....
Most PC gamers that can afford a SLI/Xrossfire configuration are considered PC enthusiast.
We'd all have to agree that a PC enthusiast is aware of torrent sites and understand how to download/use a torrent client.
EVERYONE here begging for you(Crytek/EA) to fix these problems so that WE can enjoy your game are the PC enthusiast that are loyal to your fiscal year end.

Why are you(Crytek/EA) making me/"US" regret this decision.
I appreciate the very little feedback that cry-tom & cry-adam have shown here but at this point it is time for more action!!!

Please stop continuing to constantly let me/"US" down!!
Your loyal supporter/paying customer,

I did this for my CF HD 5770s and it worked.

Rename your crysis2.exe in you program files (*86)/electronics arts/crytek/crysis 2/bin32 to rift.exe

What's worse than not having a game work with a dual GPU setup (one that prides itself on graphical prowess no less)?
Having absolutely zero response from admin to acknowledge that they are in fact working on the solution and it will be fixed. All I've seen is cry-tom looking for confirmation of a problem (does no one in the Crytek office run a dual-GPU set up????)

Not all Multi GPU set ups experience it though. In another forum I'm on, the majority of them are using their multi GPU nvidia set ups just fine. It seems to be isolated just just certain among us.

Setting it to rift.exe did not work for me at all. What was best for me is what I stated earlier and it has nothing to do with your method. This way I retain full CrossfireX. Like I said only drawback is no multiplayer.
