Crysis 2 Multi GPU support causes insane flickering.

Using the Radeon Pro method worked splendidly in the single-player, but not for multi-player.

Come ON Crytek. You already have my money. :(

My solution is a Playthrough of Crysis Warhead :)

I fixed it by downloading the new ati profile which supports crysis 2 and turned off AI catylist (4870x2)

For those who aren't successful via the radeon pro (aka changing EXE name, preferable bioshock.exe) method? I've uncovered a fix.

Seems a full uninstall of the game is required. I know; you've tried that, of course. But if you dive into "saved games" in your "C:\Users\PROFILE\Saved Games\Crysis 2" directory, you'll find varying shader packs & a config file. Wipe that stuff off, uninstall the game; reinstall, & apply the "crossfire application" to bioshock.exe. Or, simply rename the executable to "bioshock.exe".

I was enduring incessant, stomach churning nausea for eight + hours in desperation to remedy it. Dove into the registry, forced SFR & supertile multi-gpu modes, on and on. I was ready to wipe the entire memory of the most disappointing game experience of my life when I discovered files still remained subsequent. With the problem fixed, the game is honestly exquisite. With flicker gone, it manages to meet many of my high expectations. Running quad 6970s, i7 2600k @ 5.275 Ghz & Eyefinity. Give it a whirl, good luck!

I'm running 5970 and the only thing "working" for me is to turn Crossfire off from RedeonPro. This drops the frame rate considerably (obviously).

Seems really odd that none of this turned up in testing. I assume developers test their games on different set-ups. Or am I mistaken? Should there be a site that says "Can your system run Crysis 2? Please tell us because we sure didn't test it.". OK, bad joke.

I hope no epileptic person dies because of this flickering. OK, even worse joke. But if someone was to "donate" a multi GPU system and Crysis 2 to an epileptic, that might just be the perfect murder. I'm just saying.

Same thing is happening to me. SLI'd GTX 480's...and GTS 450 PhysX dedicated. Game is completely unplayable. How could they release this to the PC world with this Glitch. Don't try to tell me Crytek didn't test a MULTI-GPU system with VARIOUS cards. NVIDIA AND ATI.

Complete Joke. And they are rolling in the dough...look how many of us have this problem. I am not disabling my SLI. I paid the money for SLI so I could use 2 GPUs and have a dedicated PhysX card. There is no reason that a game shouldn't have SLI capability when released. There is no excuse. This is a port, they don't care.

all i have to say is this is what happens when a game is made for the console and ported to the computer. There cats out of the bag i said it. Why the graphics are disappointing (not bad ) just not like crysis 1 in its day. Why we are seeing this flickering problem. Cause once again who is runnin sli or xfire on their xbox or ps3? no one. so what we can all do it disable our xfire , sli and just remeber when the next ea game that is launched and is hyped up. dont buy it on launch date. dont buy it period. pirate it.

Why the hell should we give in and disabling our SLI/crossfire?
Crysis has always been about pushing the computer to the fullest, specially graphicly. Now alot of people even have bought new graphic-cards that's meant to push this game to its maximum. And what a let-down..

I'd rather not play this game at all rather than disabling my Crossfire on my 5970 and loose half the performance and as a result, decreasing my feeling for the game.

I own a HD5970, not CF yes i know but it does basically have 2 GPUs. I had the flickering... the only way I could fix it was to run the game in windowed mode... Worth a try for your CF/SLi addicts out there...

P.S. I'm more concerned with the POS Gamespy servers... Why Gamespy EA? Worst choice. Games will not even start... Use DICE...

an ETA or some update from Crytek on this issue would be nice..

HD5970 2GB - running windowed or single GPU doesn't really do it for me, the glare and weird bloom effect lightning are just as bad as the infamous dual gpu flicker.

Come on Crytek, you got our money now patch it already :S

I would like to report back that I have had some flickering.

mainly the section located in the video in the OP, when you are looking for the entrance to the HIVE.

It was no where near as bad as the OP's video nor the same (the lights in the corridor were fine)

It was once I was outside, it wasnt like strobe lighting, the best way I can describe it was like texture pop in. If I was to look away from the effected area and then back, the flickering had stopped. Once I got passed this outside section and into the tunnels, the flickering did not occur again.

267.24 beta drivers, GTX 570's in SLI OC'd to 780Mhz.
i7 950(stock), Rampage III Formula Mobo. 6GB DDR3. SATA3 1TB OS drive.

if that helps at all...

GUYS......

These are all Driver and SLI/Crossfire profile issues which are the responsibility of the Graphics card manufacturers to resolve by updating their profiles now that the game has released, I hope other people can point you to the right direction but complaining about this like its a game issue when its clearly not is pointless...set up an account at your graphics card manufacturers forums if you want better assistance because the ball is in NVIDIA and AMD's court to resolve these issues, not Crytek or EA...a game patch has nothing to do with crossfire or sli.

THE DEMO WORKED FINE FOR ME WITH CROSSFIRE ENABLED!

[caps]A, this needs to be fixed by anyone, I don't care who. My dual GPU support works perfect on other games. So it's CRYTEK's mistake. MAKE IT RIGHT g0dDimnat!

Question for AMD Radeon CF users:

Did you, or did you not, download and install CAP4 which was released today, which includes a CF profile for Crysis 2??
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx (Win 7 64bit version)

In the demo, CF didn't work for me. Both cards showed usage but the FPS didn't change with 1 or 2 cards. So, I don't have the retail game yet (going to wait a bit what with all these issues I read about) but I need to know if you guys have even tried to get the proper CAP.
Latest AMD ATI Radeon drivers, latest profile CAP... nothing works.

Tried rolling back to 10.10 and it made it worse for me. Also running a 5970.
Phoils fix to copy crysis2.exe from the disc to my install-dir worked for me.
At least I can run the SP without problems now.

As it comes to what I think about Crytek...it's all been said here already.
I feel sorry for the people working there, having to deal with a managment like that...

The worst thing about it is having the expectation, after buying the game, that you can just chill out and play it without any worries and really immerse yourself in the gameplay. I was looking forward to having the weekend to play the game but instead i've been foraging around forums and whatnot, trying to find a fix for this flickering. It's a real shame, everything else in the game is impressive but the lack of multi-gpu support outways it all. Please fix this crytek we are all counting on you to deliver the goods.

my specs:

intel core 2 quad q9400
4gb ddr2 1066
2 x Saphire 5850 vaper-x in crossfire
Catalyst display driver 11.2
with CAP4

Runs fine here in SLI with 2x8800GT... its just amazing how good this game looks at extreme settings and it still runs easier on my system then Crysis 1 and Warhead.
