Crysis 2 Multi GPU support causes insane flickering.

I don't think you can. you just like trolling around. I have 2 HD5850's and I hope to see some kind of patch/update soon.

I also have this issue with a GTX590 (v267.85). When I disable multi gpu mode flickering stops but I get 10FPS lol. And anyone who claims to get 30+ FPS or "max out" the game at resolutions higher than 1680x1050 with a POS budget graphics card is either:

A) High
B) Retarded
C) Lying

I get a minimum of 40fps @ 1920x1080, Vsync ON, Extreme with one 6950. Had to disable Crossfire to stop flickering...

So which one of your options am I?

Yeah right. Your $250 card is faster than a GF110. You're neither one of them because you're a troll. GTFO if you don't have anything useful to say.

Fix Please. Also stick this thread on front page so people know you're aware of the situation, an apology would be nice too.

I don't have SLi right now but had a GTS 250 SLi long time ago.

Anyways.. i think there is a SLI patch you can download at EVGA to fix your problem i think.

I heard someone renamed crysis to bioshock.exe and it stopped the flickering. I think that was for ATI users i dunno. Must have missed a step but yea you can get more info in this forum or elsewhere.

I have updated my SLI fix, it should work for everyone.

basicly add:

r_MultiGPU = 1

to both of your cfg files & make sure to comment out or remove the following line from your autoexec.cfg:

;sys_spec_postprocessing=3

explinations and exact cfg files can be found here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=13689

The ONLY solution until a new patch is to play in window mode. Press ALT-ENTER to play in window mode. Full screen flickers in the outdoor sections with daylight.

What I posted above worked 100% of the time for me and several others that I know who play the game... Give it a shot.

This game is astoundingly easy to max out. Go do some reading; your setup has an issue, not his.

I have tried everything to get CF to work. I tried renaming the executable to rift, bioshock, and crapport.exe. I tried that radeonpro tool and used all sorts of different profiles. I downloaded the 11.4 preview drivers and same thing. The only thing to get rid of the flicker is to disable CF. DX9 only, 32bit only, No adjustable graphics settings, Multiple GPU issues, sign in issues, thanks for your continued PC support Crytek. Why did you even bother with a PC release if your going to half ass it?

Unfortunately, you are right. Not on the reading part but you're right about my setup having an issue. It turns out that the GTX 280 I use for dedicated Physx had some leftover .dlls which wreaked havoc on the drivers. Uninstall+Driversweeper+Reinstall=60 FPS @ 1920x1200 on SINGLE GPU MODE. Still having the flickering when I enable multi-gpu btw.

Thank you, that worked for me.
I had massive flickering with 2 570's, after using your fix I have zero flickering

Have to say that the "Alt + Enter" x2 solution works great!

Instructions:

1. Get in-game, load a save, and see that the flickering is there.
2. Press "Alt + Enter" on your keyboard. (It should now go into windowed mode)
3. Press "Alt + Enter" again, you should now be back in fullscreen mode, but the flickering should be gone.

This is tested on an AMD 5970

Same problem here...

Running HD 5970. Contacting AMD tech support didn't help much either. Was using 11.2 then they said:

"Thank you for contacting AMD technical support in regards to your game issue and our driver.

In your case, I would suggest to try our latest preview driver by using the following link.

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Catalyst114earlypreview.aspx

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.

Best regards,

AMD Global Customer Care"

Great I installed it and it doesn't work again. Thank you for the help AMD!

I replied again and there has been no answer since then - seems they don't like to reply when a frustrated customer isn't happy with a solution that does not solve his problems...

I also attempted the approach of the poster before me, but it did not work for me. Playing in windowed mode does though, but I get strange lags during combat.

Sigh...this svcks. Running 2xHD 6870s in crossfire. I have the latest crossfire profile for Crysis 2, and no solution has worked for me yet. I can't rename the .exe because I have the Steam version. Playing in windowed mode fixes the issue, but it also seems to disable any crossfire boosting, as I get the same FPS with crossfire disabled as I do in windowed mode, a jumpy 35-60. Also tried the Crysis 2 advanced graphics options app that someone posted, and no good. It can reduce the flickering a bit but then I get a weird blurring issue in addition.

For other reasons, I didn't even want to buy this game previously. I decided to give in because I somewhat enjoyed the multiplayer demo, and it's something to hold me over until Brink. So good job Crytek, you got me to shell over $60 for an unplayable game. And big ups on all the ads telling us to upgrade our GPU setup in preparation for Crysis 2, when it doesn't have DX11 and can't even run DX9 properly. Fix please.

When?

Do they admit to this problem? Have the committed to the public that it's a big screw up? What about DX 11? Is that getting shelfed? Seems to me that DX11 may end up fixing this completely. We don't know.

Okay... so something weird has happened today.

I decided to try the game on my 27" monitor today just for the sake of giving it a go at full res.

I started playing and I have MSI afterburner running so that I can look at my GPU usage, temps and fan speed ETC...

Well, it's running at 60fps+ constantly today at 2560x1440. This is with a 5970 and BOTH GPU's are running at 98%+ constantly with NO flickering.

I am shocked and stumped! This means that I played half the game on my 24" at 1920x1200 when I could have been playing it on my big monitor... it looks SOOOOOO much better!

day 4. would love to play the game - so far spent way too much time stalking this forum looking for a fix.

can we please have an update on the flickering issue for xfire and make it sticky so ppl can have a quick peek to see if its fixed yet, and if not, move on.

thanks

Its strange. Crysis is maybe the most popular PC enthusiast game, and many who play this has high end riggs with dual, tri and quad sli/xfire systems. So i think its very amateurish that the game hasn't been tested properly with multi gpu's.
The game looks awesome anyways. Will play further after a proper patch is released.
